Celebrating Dia de los muertos

Anyone plan on celebrating Dia de los muertos? What do you do? Do you tie this in to halloween somehow, or do you treat it seperately? We will hopefully be celebrating this year for the first time.

Throughout this week I think we'll try and make some sugar skulls, dead mans bread, attend a local festival, and have a mini feast in honor of our relatives. My great grandma and other relatives are buried in a private cemetary so we'll also try and make it there to pay our respects and maybe clean up a bit. Not sure we'll do the tradional picnic, although it does sound peaceful.

I this holiday. I've never actually celebrated it, just researched it a bit.

I'm going to a local celebration on Friday, but that's about it

I'm planning to buy a bunch of skeleton stuff in early November on sale, and do it up BIG next year! It's the best holiday. I treat it differently than Halloween, but I guess here in America it is more of an extension of Halloween.
