I love my radian, and love knowing it will keep my son rear-facing longer than any other seat out there.
But in some vehicles it is impossible to get a radian to install more upright than 45 degrees. Which is the only seat that does that, any other seat you can change the rfing angle on.

Op, here is the 65. A lot of places have it. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=4232164

Some seats are much better than others for RF legroom. The Britax seats are somewhat famous for being terrible in that department. Almost any other seat will be better. My DD is in a TrueFit and her legs are bent, but not terribly.

We're planning to put DD (2.5) and the twins (in SnugRides) all in the same row, so she will be next to one of them. However since she's still RF she really can''t reach into their seats much - we just tried it out yesterday and I don't think she'll be able to get at them at all for awhile to come. It may depend on the seat combo though. Also she's mature enough to be pretty good about rules like "don't touch the baby in the car". She might not have been at 20 months!

I have a Radian (older model that only RF to 33 lbs) and a CA (the 50 lb. version, from earlier this year).
My kindergartner was RF in the Radian until 2.5/33 lbs. His legs were not scrunched at all. He still fits FFing in both seats. Honestly the 50 lb. limit doesn't bother me at all. My oldest hit 50 lbs. at 6, and he's big for his age. I have no qualms about putting a 6 yr. old in a booster. To be honest my kindergartner would be in a booster if I didn't just happen to have 2 convertibles and no extra HBB!

I drive a Mazda5 and there is no middle seat; there are 3 rows of 2 seats so everyone is outboard; one in a HBB, one in a FFing convertible, and one in a RFing convertible. It doesn't bother me a bit.

I really don't think that you'll get a Boulevard and a Snugride 32 side by side in a 99 CR-V. Both are pretty wide seats and the Britaxes don't tend to play well with others (ie. puzzle nicely). In a 99 CR-V, you don't have advanced airbags so you could brace a Radian against the back of the front seat & probably get quite a nice upright install. (Sunshine Kids recommends this if the vehicle allows it) My 2.5 yo has no problems whatsoever with the RFing angle of his Radian, even though he was RFing in a Britax before that. He is tall (38") and has SO much more legroom in the Radian than he did in the Britax, it's really remarkable.

As for putting both outboard, please don't feel guilty about this. We needed to put our DS outboard from day 1 because his infant seat didn't install well in the center of our car. He still sits outboard so we can have someone else in the backseat. We are expecting #2 right now and both will be outboard & I don't feel guilty about that at all. As others have said, RFing is so safe that outboard vs. center is not something that concerns me.

It's not quite as simple as that. They both pass the same safety tests and that's all we know. Everything else is marketing.

They both appear to me to offer good side impact protection at least.

It is hard. We had to do it here. But I wouldn't put a toddler next to a baby. Too unpredictible. I also think you are really unlikely to get any britax next to any other car seat. We just got a radian and like it.

Just to reiterate what others said, don't feel guilty about moving babies to the sides! We had to do the same when Baby G was born, with Sweetie B 18 months old. We did try them side-by-side (a Britax Marathon next to the Chicco Keyfit 30, in a Mazda 6) for one long trip, so that I could sit with them, and there was trouble. Mainly the pulling-arm variety, which woke up the baby, but I wouldn't want to leave them like that if I weren't there with them.
