how did you know?
My almost 12 month old has a raised, colorless rash of sorts, mainly on his forehead and a little on his cheeks. And he has been a crabby patty for several days. I thought the forehead thing might just be a contact rash from me brushing his hair out of his eyes frequently and attributed the fussiness to teething.
But after more than a week of trying to figure out the rash, it hasn't gone away and has pretty much stayed the same. I started doing some research and some signs of dairy allergy are a "sandpaper like rash on the face" and "extreme fussiness and irritability."
So I am wondering if that is what might be going on.
Starting today I am going to withhold all dairy to see if it helps. The only dairy I eat is cheese. Do I need to stop eating that as well or just stop giving him yogurt and cheese? Does anyone know how long before I would start seeing the rash clear up? And if it does, do I need to give him some dairy again to see if the rash comes back? Or just assume that lack of dairy + rash going away = dairy allergy?
Thanks for any input. I've never had a LO with any sort of food allergy, so this is all new territory for me.
