how many eaches to buy--gDiapers???

Anyone here have gDiapers???
I'm not looking for suggestions to get out of buying gDiapers, so I'm kindly asking only for input on gdiapers! I hope you understand!!!

My question is, how many gDiapers do you own? How many tinyGs do I need compared to smalls, mediums, larges? This will be my first child so I have to start from nothing. I'm looking to buy used online, or wherever else cheap I can get them.

Anyone here have gDiapers that can tell me how many they have and what they wished they had more of?

Thank you very much!!!!

i would think you would need more tinygs than smalls, and so forth up the line. reason being that newborn poop has a tendency to get on the covers a lot easier, so you will definitely want more of them! plus, newborns poop and pee so frequently. i have used gdiapers on a baby i was nannying for, but use other cloth on my daughter but the same reasoning still goes no matter what type of diaper you are using.

i usually go for 6-10 covers for the newborn stage, and then you can get away with 6-8 smalls, 5-7 mediums, 4-6 larges.

you might find it easier to use prefolds trifolded into a gdiaper cover when the baby gets older, like 2-3 m or so, if you wanted to save money, just an idea, since you will have to be washing the covers anyway.

They didn't have tinyGs when my son was born, so I'm skipping them this time around as well. He wasn't that big (7lb 4oz), but I just used a pack or two of disposables first, and the gDiapers fit fine pretty quickly.

The cheapest way to get the covers if you get them new is in packs of 6 (the "starter pack" or "everyday Gs"), if you're not picky about colors (I think they come with 3 orange and 3 green). So I would go with 6 if you are OK doing laundry frequently, and 12 if you want to be extra generous. (we had 6 smalls, and now have 12 mediums). If you go with just 6, I'd get a few extra plastic liners as well, since they get dirty much more often than the cloth. Of course, if you find used, you can get any number, but I'd still get 6 at minimum, and make sure the velcro is in good shape on any used ones (it can wear out quickly if not treated carefully).

My petite 20 month old son is still wearing his mediums and isn't growing out of them any time soon. I'd wait on large, you can get it later. I'm wondering if mine will be potty trained before he gets there!

So my minimum would be 6 small and 6 medium covers, plus a couple extra plastic liners in each size. More might be convenient, but isn't necessary.

This is my third baby - but my first time using G-diapers and i LOVE them! there is so much less bulk than with regular cloth diapers. Good luck finding them used - i was stalking CraigsList for weeks - finally got a deal on 6 mediums - (my son was out of the smalls by 8 weeks)- i guess in a few months i will begin stalking more places for Larges...
i have 6 covers and i need to wash every other day. - Or go back to stalking....

I had 12 smalls from the time my son was a newborn and that was plenty. I'm buying the new baby bundle for the one due in December, to have some tinys, so now will have more than I need. Send me a private message if you'd like some used small ones.

Thank you Thank you THANK YOU all for your help! Can I ask 1 more favor from someone?? Can anyone give me the dimensions of the SMALL and LARGE cloth (or disposable I suppose) liners? I have mediums and know that dimension!

I bought 12 Medium gpants, 11 snap in liners and 3 packs of disposable liners today off craigslist for 100.00! I am so excited! I'm visiting my grandparents in Arizona and found them on craigslist here! They were only used once! The lady had twins and it was too difficult for her.

I am going to be making the cloth liners for small gdiapers and large ones when the day comes, but i need the measurements. Anyone able to get those?

Also, what did you ladies who do not have the tinyg's do for the newborn size? I was thinking I'd just do straight up oldschool cloth diapers for that, but I'm wondering if there's another solution I haven't thought of yet?

Wholebreath, I sent you a private message!

Thank you all again very very very mucH!!!!!!!!!!!!
