Have you not heard about the yogurt up the vagina trick? I know, it sounds gross but it's what we do around here. Make sure it's good quality and is unsweetened. Here is a good website for this sort of thing. http://www.disabled-world.com/artman...nfection.shtml

You may need super high doses of oral probiotics. S boullardi is particularly effective against yeast, it is a "good yeast" that outcompetes bad yeast. Florastor brand is S boullardi and it's also in GT brand kombucha at Whole Foods. Take lots of magnesium too or soak in epsom baths.

I swear by therapeutic grade melaluca alternifolia (tea tree) oil. I have added 3 drops to a tampon (you probably want to dilute it a little with olive oil or a good quality oil) and it works amazingly well!

There's some dietary tricks to discourage yeast:

No sugar (deserts, fruits, sodas, etc)
No yeast-risen breads
No alcohol
No vinegar
No dairy

Basically try to go for meats, beans, veggies, nuts, and water only.

Take care if you use tea tree oil in sensitive areas, some people have bad reactions to it (dryness and itching mostly). For many it's a great antimicrobial solution though.

garlic suppositories work, too. But you will also need probiotics to re-establish the vaginal flora.

What brand of garlic suppositories do you use?

You make a garlic suppository from a clove of garlic. (no special brand, just whatever you have in the pantry :wink) I would guess that fresher is better, but start with whatever you have on hand.

Peel the clove. insert it into your vagina. Replace every 6-8 hours. You should feel relief within 3 hours. It might take 3-7 days for the treatment to work.

Some variations: Thread a thread through the clove if you think you will want help removing it. (I just hook it with my finger to remove)

You can nick or score the garlic several times for more of the "good juice" to come out. Some women find that this makes it sting, but it works for me.

You might be able to taste the garlic (almost instantly for me); this is normal.
