EEK! pedi's and car seat advice!

I just found out by a few friends who see the same practice we do that our pedis have recommended to them that they can turn their kids around BEFORE 1 yr old if they are already 20 lbs! Our law has the "or" clause not "and" so it is "legal" but I'm appalled that they are giving this advice out so freely!

Our pedi told us this when the girl I nanny for was over one year. By the time my daughter was at the same point she told me "new research shows...etc etc". I told her I know and that both girls are still rear facing. I think this sounds like a great opportunity to educate your doctors office, don't let it pass you by or you'll beat yourself up.

Thats scary. At DDs one year WBV they told us we COULD turn her around but its safer to leave her rear facing to the limits of the seat.. Maybe its time to print out some info and drop it by their office.

It's actually illegal, because with a proper use clause no car seat allows ffing before 1 year.
