STILL having poop issues

So after a very long haul, my DS is gluten, egg, dairy, soy, all fish, all nuts, banana free. He has been free of most of the list since he was 14 months. Last year we found high levels on a Celiac's test. After more tests, an inconclusive biopsy and back and fourth we went GF in July.

He (at almost 4) still does not have formed BM's with any sort of regularity. None. I still keep a food log and there is no rhyme or reason when he does or does not have firm BM's. We have been giving him 1/2 fiber bar every other day thinking that could be it but it doesn't seem to be helping.

He is on Vit. D and a multi in addition to the fiber bar. Anyone have any ideas? I just want my boy healthy

Can you link to the multi? Some nutrients might help, if you let me know what he's currently on, I'll go check them out and make some suggestions.

Have you done any probiotics with him?

How much corn does he eat?

He tested + to corn at 14 months and hasn't had it either. I didn't mention that because he is ok'ed to trial it but I was waiting for the poop issues to rectify which I thought would happen when he went GF.

Here is the multi: http://www.freedavitamins.com/index....d=182&parent=3

The D is Carlson's kids 400 IU (3-4 drops a day)

He has not done probiotics in a while. I keep trying to find a good/safe one that isn't $1 million bucks too! That is where I was thinking of going next just haven't found one (and am open to suggestions).

That multi has corn (mannitol, sorbitol, & citric acid, & possibly artificial/natural flavors).

More importantly, it also has not nearly enough minerals, and poor forms of most of them (not very bioavailable). It also has a lot of iron, which can be irritating to some guts. It's missing selenium & molybdenum entirely.

I like Thorne vitamins (good forms, not too expensive). You could try something like this:

No iron, good forms and enough of trace minerals & B vites. (Note, this is for adults, so only do 1-2 capsules a day for your son). If the capsules are too big for him to swallow, get some #3 empty capsules (also available on iherb) and repackage into the smaller capsules. You won't find a chewable with good amounts of B vites & zinc because they taste blecky.

I shouldn't have said no corn. I know this multi does have some but so did the nuggets he use to get (corn meal was a last ingredient) and he didn't seem to have an issue so I didn't think these would be that big an issue since I *assume* it is still less corn than in the nuggets.

He's not going to do a capsule. He has tried. He needs a chewable We really have tried everything.

Any probiotic recs while we're at it? and B's and zinc in drop form?

You could try a 1/3 or 1/2 dose of this powdered vite:

My DS didn't like the taste, but it's the best tasting of the really good multis out there (formulated for kids on the autism spectrum).
