IUD fell out after "period", feeling fat, pregnant? birth control pills too!

I've had my Minera IUD for 1 year and half. I had been getting periods. I just finished my period (a heavier one) and on the last day I felt a weird twitching feeling down there.

I checked and the strings were outside me and the IUD had moved moved down. I couldn't get it out so I made an appointment and the OBGYN took it out 2 days ago. They said they generally give a pregnancy test but I forgot and so did they.

I notice a week or two before that I have gained weight (6 lbs) and I usually don't weight like that.

Since the IUD was out, I switched to the pill and just took my first one today.

I might just be paranoid........but is there a possibility I am/was pregnant?? If I am what is taking the pill today going to do about that? Should I take a pregnancy test or I am just freaking out??

Yes, this is a chance and I would not take any birth control pills until I took a test. When was your last period?

I have heard of many people getting pregnant with the IUD, one was a family member. I would get tested.

Thanks guys, I took a pregnancy test this morning - negative!
