Considering an elimination diet for breastfeeding baby

My DD is 9 months old and we've suspected food sensitivites right from the get go. We had her at the pediatrician last week and she was diagnosed with FPIES.

She's had violent vomiting episodes as a result of eating rice cereal, oatmeal baby cereal yams (sweet potato) and bananas. Realized after the fact that both cereals were made with soy so much for single ingredient baby foods right?

The pediatrician tested her for allergies and she came up negative to scratch tests, but he said that because they are denatured they aren't always a definitive test. We could do a patch test, but those are more involved I might still ask for it. But at the moment we are avoiding:

Rice, Oats, soy, dairy sweet potato and banana. Any of those require a hospital oral challenge if I want to feed her those.

I'm considering trying to do an elimination diet as well. I'm terrible with diets. I hate to restrict my food, but I think it might be necessary to see if that would help her. She has been up every night crying and fussing and been very clingy and cranky. She's been urpy and hicuppy and her stools have been flecked with dark bits that I'm concerned might be bits of digested blood.

As I was writing this I realized that for the last week I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast because I was trying to cut down on our grocery bill and oatmeal is cheap. DH and I were discussing yesterday how fussy she's been...why didn't I clue into the oatmeal. *sigh*

I need to figure out what I can eat. I have been considering formula, but that freaks me out too. How long on a TED would I be likely to see a change?

I'm considering chicken and...apples since she seems to tolerate them herself. I'm wondering about a grain. Quinoa maybe?

I wouldn't go straight to a TED, they're really severe. I'd start by taking out the top 4 intolerance foods - dairy, gluten, soy, corn, and anything she's reacted to directly. Try that for a week, and see if things are improving (a week isn't long enough to get all dairy & gluten out of your system, but it should be long enough to start seeing improvements). If that doesn't work, you can start taking out more foods (the rest of the top 8, fish, shellfish, peanuts, treenuts, eggs). Only if that isn't getting you anywhere would I try a TED.

Thank you. I realized after posting that it would be pretty crazy to try and avoid everything.

I think for a start I'm going to take out dairy oats rice and soy. That will be a challenge enough.

I'm trialing quinoa for her this week though I almost hate to because if she fails it will be something else I can't eat.
