Suggestions?

Our twin daughters (7 months) have been in Chicco Keyfit 30s. However, they are about an inch from the max height for the seat, so I have started to investigate convertibles.

We are looking for convertible seats for them that will keep them rear-facing as long as possible, and fit well in our 2010 Honda Odyessy and our nanny's 2011 Ford Fusion and would appreciate any recommendations...

Are you looking to buy seats for each vehicle, or seats that will be switched frequently?

I am hoping just one set of seats, though if that is generally felt to be a bad idea (the nanny would be installing the seats a couple of times a week in her car), I would be willing to spring for two sets.

I would get two nicer seats for the vehicle they are in most, and two cheaper seats for the vehicle they are in less. It's a whole lot easier then moving seats and leaves less room for error.

I'd look into pretty much any seat that rfs to 40lbs for the primary vehicle and then something like the scenera for the other.

Or, you could do 4 more mid-priced seats, like 4 Graco MyRides or 4 Complets Airs (and keep an eye out for good sales before purchasing).
