OMG, sooo been there. My son wanted Chuck E. Cheese birthday party. We couldn't afford it. Well, we could, but it's not how I wanted to spend that amount of money.
We met in the middle. We went to Chuck E. Cheese on his birthday, just us. And then his birthday "party" was at our house. He got what he wanted, and it didn't break the bank. We even had a coupon! (Which actually makes it a pretty reasonable price.)
