Placenta

what are you going to do with it? I know about encapsulating, planting it, eating it and i just read about placenta essence. I personally LOVE flower essence, and never thought of placenta essence until I just read about it.

Placenta essence definitely sounds like something I "might" do. Does it work or behave like flower essence does? Anyone??

Yes, the placenta essence "behaves" like a flower essence. It works vibrationally. My DH made an essence from the placenta, 13 years ago for our middle DD. It has two uses, one for the mother to assist with preventing PPD and secondly, for the baby to assist him/her transition to the physical. Also, the essence can be used as a personal rescue remedy for the child throughout their life. It is an awesome thing to have IMO.

DH also recommends that the placenta, minus the piece used to make the essence be kept close to the baby for three days following the birth, this makes the transition easier for the baby. It doesn't have to be connected to the umbilicus because the connection is vibrational.

I also ate a small piece of fresh placenta soon after the birth.

I made placenta essence after my son & I swear is helped control my panic attacks. I was so concerned that they would get worse after his birth (I'd had them for about 2 years prior) but nope, nothing. I just threw the last of it away after 3.5 years but now I'm wondering if I should've kept it! I never thought to save it for my son. Highly recommended.

Great. Good to know. I will definitely do that.

Did you ladies do it yourself or have someone else take care of it? I understand it needs to be in a vodka solutions and under the sun for 4 hours, right? However, baby is due the end of December, and I am not sure if the sun will be out there since it mostly rain here.

Well, my husband is a professional (!), he owns a company that manufactures the world's largest collection of flower (and other) essences, and I was the first person to post about placenta essence to the unassisted childbirth yahoo list all those years ago!. As for your baby's winter birth, I would see how the weather is on his birth date. Our Ds was born in February and the weather wasn't good, which was why he never had a placenta essence, he was also born in the evening, whereas DD was born in September in the early morning so making an essence from the fresh placenta was easy. You also don't need to leave the placenta out for four hours, that is the ideal, but two hours is sufficient if you can get two hours of winter sunshine. Good luck with your upcoming birth.
