Prefolds as burp cloths...need to keep 2 stashes?

I have a ton of prefolds from my ds that I used as burp cloths before we started cloth diapering. Now they have been used as night time stuffers. Do I need to buy a new set to use as burp cloths for the new baby or does washing sanitize them enough?

i would and wouldn't think twice. especially since they were used as stuffers, you shouldn't have any stains. i would even use with stains. i have often used prefolds from the diaper bag to clean dd up.

Good to know. Thanks Chel and Lit Chick. I think it would drive me crazy trying to keep the face prefolds separate from the tushy ones.

you'll go through the same thing with cloth wipes. you plan to use them for the bum, but more often need them for hands and mouths.

i use disposie wipes when out and mainly use them to pass to my dd1 and adults to clean clothing stains (they are amazing- completely got out hot cocoa on pants when camping)
