How do I know when these carseats expire?

I have 2 DC , and expecting a third. Just going over my carseat options before I plan on any big purchases.

I recently got rid of our bucket seat that we had been saving because I realized (found out here) that it expired. Until now, I never even thought about the seats I had expiring !

I have an Eddie Bauer deluxe convertible...the stickers says manufactured in July 2006. When would this seat expire ?

And what about the lifespan on the Graco Nautilus' ?

Thanks for your help. (and is there some kind of database where you find this stuff)?

Dorel had an 8 year lifespan on some of their convertibles, but you can double check by looking at the back of the seat. Dorel stamps little clocks into the plastic, which will show the month and year they expire.

The Nautilus has a 6 year lifespan on the harness and high back booster, and 9 years on the backless booster.

You can usually find the info on the maufacturers websites.

I just go to the manufacturer's website and call their customer service number. They will tell you.

It seems that if they expect people to destroy/dispose of the seats after the "expiration date" that it should be printed on the seat, but that has not been my experience with my seats.
