i can't believe some people have too many socks. i never have enough socks. i don't know what happens to them! i guess also part of the problem may be that i like nice socks, but i don't like paying for them . . . hmm.

other things i can't seem to keep on hand:
laundry detergent
the right earrings for the outfit
glue
tape
pens
spoons (where do they go?!)
yarn
cayenne pepper

I will play-

We never have enough:
Vanilla extract- I should just make my own so I won't run out
Cinnamon _ I need to bulk order it
Socks- they disappear, the kids rarely have matches



I love vanilla, use it in almost everything I bake, same goes for cinnamon. We use it on oatmeal, sometimes coffee/hot cocoa, in chili, in bread, cookies,on millet and sometimes rice. I use it at least once a day. This time of year I use it even more- all of our yummy apples become apple pie, applesauce. I love fall and vanilla and cinnamon.

Now on the pens- do you have cats? Our cats like pens and tend to play with them. Check the couch cushions.

I do have way too many socks. But DD has too few. Her feet are growing so fast, that just when i think we have a good stock of socks, they are all sliding off her heels.

other things I never have enough of:
organic dried basil
nursing bras that fit well
hand lotion or chapstick for my nightstand. they always fall off and disappear.
batteries - we dont have many things that require them, but they all need to be replaced at the same time it seems.
chalk
tomato puree
fudgey walnut brownies. I think this is more of a personal problem though.

i used to never have enough matching socks for the kids, but i bought ds1 a ton of identical white socks. then i bought ds2 a ton of identical red socks. then i bought a ton of identical navy socks for either one of them to wear (only 18m apart). it's so much easier! i should dump all the white socks though. they get nasty from the sand box. should get more of the same red and navy (from old navy!). they're only $1/pair.

if i could find a sock like that, that i love for myself? i'd be golden!

For me its:
Socks/undies/bras- Seriously, if I want to wear a bra every day and have it clean Id have to do laundry (just for bras) every other day. Undies I tend to run out before the weeks done and socks I think I have 4 pairs maybe.
Girls sweaters, everytime it gets cold I find I don't have the right sizes and have to go either hunt the clothing bins in the closet or the thrift store for more.
Church appropraite clothing- all our clothes are technically "church appropriate" however most are also stained and I prefer to not wear stained clothes/have the girls wear stained clothes to church/special activities.
pens/paper/pencils
childrens art supplies.... Im out of paint AGAIN.. maybe if the girls didnt' paint on a daily basis that would help but where is the fun in that?
husband's pt clothes, Im washing them three times a week right now.
vinegar solution- we have one bottle 50/50 made up but its a pain when Im cleaning the back area and have to hunt around the kitchen to find it. Id love to have two bottles, one in the back and one in the front of the apartment.
Kitchen rags- Im always running out
spatulas- we have one.. I wash it at least 2 times a day because I need it for what Im cooking.

Sleep. No matter how many hours I have supposively slept I am still tired.

Nursing tanks. I live in the Target ones but I only have three. No, wait four.
Coffee...we are always running out! Even now that I get it at Costco.
Butter. I need both salted and unsalted on hand and my DH does not...will not...understand that there is a difference between them.
Toothpaste. I only use the Weleda stuff and so when I get close to done with a tube I know it means a trip to Whole Foods .
Cute things for my hair. My hair is superfrumpalicious until it grows out a bit.
Cat flea stuff. I hate that it costs so much.

Firstly about the socks, I have way too many! So do the kids, guess I should have listed that in my other thread. I love expensive socks for myself too, so I probably have spent too much on socks over the years. But they do last really well. That's half the trouble as they last so well there is no reason to throw them, but I keep buying a few new ones each winter as well.

I won't bother listing food as that always has to be replaced, especially the staples like milk, bread and butter.

Things I never have enough of, or that basically do a disappearing act so keep getting duplicated:

Staplers
sticky tape
tissues
glue sticks
dinner plates (have we broken that many?)
packets of alphabets for scrapbooking
shoes for my middle child..she wears them out so fast.
forks..I bought two boxes of Royal Doulton cutlery, but STILL the forks are disappearing!

This. It happens with nail files. Zero, and then after I purchase one, I find 4 or 5. Hair scrunchies, when my hair was longer.

Oh yeah...nail files, forgot that one.

Yes, where do they go? I'm sure have about six pairs yet I'm always finding someone sneaking into the sewing room to get my "special" ones because they can't find any others

Nail files & thermometers here too. Also socks. I love socks and can't stop buying them yet neither child ever seems to have more than one pair at any one time.
