Who will take my expired seat?

I've actually shelled out the $$ and purchased a new seat for #4 even though I'll have you know the old baby bucket would only be a *little* expired!

Now what do I do with the old seat? Will the fire station that does car seat checks take it? We don't have a local dump and it's too big to fit in my trash.

Plus, it's in perfect condition. I can't bear to distroy it, but I'd be happy to let a tech do that.

Thanks for the advice!

If you can't find someone to recycle it. Make sure that you put it out in the trash in peices. Base one week, take the straps off the seat etc. You could try to sell the cover on ebay if the seat is still in production.

Every few months, Babies R Us and Toys R Us do a trade-in event. They'll take any carseat/stroller/crib/basinette/highchair (even expired or recalled ones) and give you a coupon for 20% any one item in any of those categories. You can bring in a carseat and use the coupon on a stroller, for example. They just had one, but I suspect there will be another one in a few months if you can wait.

This year I thinkit was even 25% off. So if you were going to buy any gear, for you or a present, it's a fantastic deal. We racked our brains about what we could need, but we really didn't need anything! Our old seat it still out in the garage for now. We can fit it in the trash, but we figured we'd hold off for a bit.
