The support is out there....

I feel so blessed!!! Today I found out that subsidized childcare is going to cover the bulk of my daughter's preschool tuition. Her school is amazing and very expensive but if I have her go part time (three full days a week) subsidized childcare will cover it at (the subsidized child care's) full time rates.

I will still have a small co-payment but it's manageable and I am just giddy!

It's is so refreshing to know that support is out there when you look for it and that you don't have to compromise quality for it.

That's wonderful news LoveOhm! Yes, it's amazing what you can find if you look...I know so many mamas who have just put their kids in pre schools or schools they are not really happy about, not believing there's a way to have them go to one they do like - and I've been refusing to give up, looking into the schools whose values I really like and that I liked the feel of...and I just found out that after the free early years entitlement (3 & 4 in this country) runs out, subsidised childcare can pay for my son to go (70 % of the costs) from age 5 to 7 at the private school I like most. After that, I don't know...but it's one step at a time!

I'm just curious, because I think we are in the same state..with the new budget that just passed the Governator cut the funding for subsidized child care for low income families. People are trying to overturn this in court but it goes in effect Nov 1. Were you not affected by this? If not hurray what a huge help!

I don't know what I would do without subsidized childcare. I know for certain I wouldn't have been able to finish college (next semester! woohoo!)

my dd was going to one of the most expensive ps/dc in the city. my hours were cut. even with ex paying half i couldnt afford the other half.

i couldnt dream of changing to the low cost ones i was looking at. it was horrible.

the owner came thru. she had me come in and volunteer during nap time two times a month as barter. for almost a whole year.

i dont know where i would have been without the kindness of others.
