I purchased two of these one size pocket diapers for my toddler to use during the night. Well, we ran into stink problems with all our diapers. I posted ?'s about it not too long ago. Since then I have read up a lot on this. I determined that the prefolds had detergent buildup (smelled cleaned but got the strong ammonia smell as soon as peed on) and tried a bunch of things to remedy; not sure if it worked as I switched to flats while I was working on cleaning the others and like the flats so well that I'm sticking with them. But the BG's are another issue. Since they are nighttime diapers I expect some stink in the morning but now I realize the microfiber inserts never really smell clean. They either smell pooey or just off no matter what I do. Seems to be a pretty common problem. If I had known this would happen I would not have gotten these so if you are considering buying these read up on them first. Anyhow, I am going to try the Oxyclean + vinegar that I read about on diaper swappers although I will start very carefully and only use less dilution if necessary. In the meantime how about folding up flats to stuff in the BG shell. Anyone do this or prefolds? I'm just worried it may not be enough absorption. One nice thing about the BG's is that they have only leaked maybe two times since we started using them 3 months or so ago. Any thoughts or advice?
