I've seen a few people recommend having sex every other day as opposed to every day and am just wondering why? Thanks.

To let sperm replenish for a day.

And to keep you from getting burned out.
But mainly for the sperm replenishment.

cuz DH cant keep up. and sperm can live up to 5 days in fertile cevical fluid, so you dont need to do it every day.

O.K. that makes sense. What would you do if you get an +opk but had sex the day before? Should a person wait or go for it everyday after the +opk? thank again

Cross posted. I don't think I am making very much fertile cm . What happens to my chances then?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying not to obsess, but it's really hard.

I think that would depend on your individual circumstance. For example, I generally O a day after my positive OPK, so if it were me I'd wait until the day after to BD.

But if you normally O the day of the positive OPK, I think I'd go ahead and BD again.

The every other day thing is really a recommendation for those with sperm count issues. (Although, as mentioned, it can be easier to keep up!)
If I got a positive opk and had BDed the day before, you better believe we'd do it again. We usually do 2 or 3 days in a row at the right time, but every other day leading up to ovulation.

We do every other day UNTIL a + opk. Then it's every day til confirmed O. BUT, that said, I'm not pg yet, so who knows!?
If we dtd and then then next day positive opk, we'd do it again every day. HTH!

My doctor emphasized the importance of female arousal for ovulation, and said to make sure it was pleasurable. He even suggested "playing", teasing and foreplay for a whole day to increase sperm output and gear the woman's body up for ovulation. But, hey, if you can enjoy the heck out of it every day, I say go for it!
