Meal Glucose Test

I'm lost. My MW wants to do the meal challenge glucose test. (I eat and she does a blood draw 2 hours later) I was borderline GD with DS so we want to make sure everything is okay.

Here's where I'm lost: She said eat 75 grams of glucose for the meal. I have NO idea how to calculate it.

I only have the 50g menu my mws suggest for a 1 hour draw, but maybe you could use it as a starting point?

4oz unsweetened juice (apple, grapefruit, or orange)
2 eggs
2 slices toast (not diet) with margarine or 1 slice and 1c. unsweetened dry cereal
8oz. milk

I would say go ask her for a suggested menu and some very specific instructions.

My midwife just gave me mine, it included a normal high protien, low sugar breakfast, a 2-3 hour wait, a 50g glucose intake 5 suggestions to choose from, very different from the meal suggestion above since it is post meal, then a blood test exactly an hour later.

This was all written out for me, I would expect the same from anyone ifvthey expect us to do it right.
