poop at night...

... so i was watching the latest episode of house on hulu... and i suddenly had a thought.

my dd is 8. she has never ever pooped at night. ever. except when she had the stomach flu.

even when we travelled to a 12 hour time difference, she never pooped at night.

isnt that weird? have your children pooped at least once at night?

LOL Nah, they never have, unless they had a stomach bug. My dc3 did poop at night when he was still one(he's nearly two, now), but just twice and it was odd. I don't poop at night...just saying. I guess not so odd. The body must shut down that mechanism when you are sleeping.

Nope, my son (4 in 3 wks) never did. He was never one to poo in his sleep. That said he was also dry through the night from before 18m.

My kids have all been early-morning poopers, or bedtime poopers. So when they were still in diapers, I did change some diapers at night-- usually a half hour after they went to bed, but before they fell asleep, or first thing in the morning. But they weren't pooping at night in their sleep or anything.


My kids all pooped at night as young infants, though.

Mine have never pooped at night. I thought it strange when my sister complained of changing poopy nappies in the middle of the night until I realised that was sort of normal and I'd just got lucky.

you know why i find it strange. because sometimes when i do things out of necessary when i thought i was doing wrong i find that is what a lot of moms do.

like at night. i never burped my dd. i always thought i was doing the wrong thing and felt guilty about it for a long time. but then i find that was ok. it wasnt necessary.

neither did i change her diaper if she wasnt complaining or it was super thick. she never had a rash from an overnight diaper. ever. she did have rashes but never first thing in the morning.

and house was always cleaning poopy diapers at night - even before the laxative so i was surprised at how often the baby pooped at night.
