Can pants wetting be a food sensitivity?

DS1 is nearly 4 1/2 and has been out of diapers during the day for nearly a year with very few accidents. Over the last couple of months the number of accidents has increased quite a lot to several times a week. We've had allergy testing done and we've known about an anaphylactic rxn to egg since he was 20 months and the only new thing that came back positive at a recent test was cats (and we don't have any). I'm suspecting a wheat sensitivity, but could it be more? Even after not having had wheat for several days he's still wetting (although the frequency is less). This is getting frustrating for us, and embarrassing for him.

He's been checked for a UTI? Because that can be a symptom...
But pants wetting/bed wetting is a symptom for us. For my DS it's potato and dairy. For DD2 it's beef and something else I can't remember (that we're avoiding, so it's been a while). Can you keep a journal and see if you notice a pattern? For my DS it's the night after the food (bedwetting) or the day after the food (pants wetting), and it continues for 3 nights. So you might not see a marked improvement for a few days.

Oh yeah. DD has been diaper-free since about 14mo, and she doesn't ever have accidents. Like ever. Except for during 2 food reactions (which we didn't realize at the time, until we put together all the symptoms later) when she just out of the blue, peed her pants. She was really upset about it too, so it was obviously a surprise to her.
