Can cream be frozen to make butter with later?

We are doing a 'local' Christmas dinner this year, and I will need to make butter for it a day or two beforehand. I want to use my raw cream, but would need more than I get in a couple of weeks. If I start freezing cream now, will it be OK to make butter with if I thaw it out in a couple of months?

I'd make the butter and then freeze it.
