I am trying to find a really good description of calc carb, more a portrait or story rather than list of isolated symptoms. Also I'm hoping for one that sounds more current day rather than some of the homeopathic descriptions that sound a little antiquated, IYKWIM. Does anyone have a good one? Thanks in advance!

looking at portraits presents a few problems, IMO. If you look at portraits a. you're not going to fit each piece (but that's not a reason to rule it out) b. portraits have a LOT of overlap, c. there are exceptions to every rule....the list goes on. however, here's a thread that may help a wee bit:

Thanks, PB!
Would it be the same for an adult? I am thinking about it for my dad. Plays on the computer or watches TV all the time, doesn't feel comfortable meeting new people or socializing, very hermit like. Slow digestion, chilly, all of that, too. Goes to bed late, gets up late. Adrenal symptoms. Mild Aspergers symptoms. But I was thinking of something that might talk about what it feels like to be an adult calc carb.
He also fits some Sulphur, with tending to be didactic, "can teach better than the instructor" etc but he's not a messy womanizer. He's generally self-consciously introverted and neat.

the two have distinctly different energies. sulphurs will have different manifestations of physical stuff and *very* different temp. modalities. They are also (in my training) two different basic miasms or survival mechanisms. sulphur/lycopodium/calc carb is a common progression for many homeopaths.
yes, it would be similar for an adult....but again there are also individual variations within the remedy. That's why it's hard to pick based on a picture. It needs to fit the person which you can't tell by looking at a profile.
however in a low-ish potency you could always try and see what happens!
