We're planning on starting teaching our kids at home, either from next fall or in two years (it's a complicated thing...
).
Our oldest will either be in first grade or third, so she's the one I'm gearing the choices toward. I'm leaning toward a CM approach, or at least I can say we're big fans of living books and nature! Of course, it's so hard to know what's going to work until you actually do it, but I'm trying to put together a curriculum ahead of time.
My research has been only online, as we currently do not live in an area where I can go to fairs. We will be teaching in PA, with very (from what I understand; we're currently in NY) demanding laws as far as reporting, testing, etc.
So...my question is, does this look doable as a core curriculum, or too much? Generally the first thing listed I plan to use as the main resource; the others as supplements. Foreign language/character/art I've yet to determine.
Language:
Language through Literature
(alternatively, Sonlight +/- Ambleside book list)
Handwriting:
Getty Dubai
Math:
Math on the Level
Science:
Real Science 4 Kids (+ Noeo living book list)
History:
Trail guides to learning
Early American History (barefoot books)
Usborne
Thank you!!!
