When can we start on green smoothies?

Maybe I'll have a 'faster' response from the vegans... I posted this here.

My DD is only 4 months and has no interest in solid fods. We expect to have her on 100% breast milk until she is one year old. (ETA: i.e. not formula and introduce food at 6 months)

Right now, would be too early to start her on green smoothies... so when can we start? And should I remove some of the fiber, too?

I'm not a big pusher of foods for babies. I think a good rule of thumb is when she starts grabbing your food! Just when there is a general interest and they start trying to eat. I would not go any earlier than 6 months and I tried to wait for my kids atleast until 10months. HTH

My son was grabbing for food and watching us really closely during mealtimes at about 4 months old. We gave him little, tiny tastes of green smoothie at that point- like a 1/4 teaspoonful just to taste. Really, it's up to you and what you think is best for your baby!

They recommend nothing but breastmilk for the first 6 months. I've introduced food between 6 & 9 months with my 5 children according to their interest (ie reaching out for my food, mouthing when I'm eating etc). Dr Furhman's "Disease Proof Your Child" has great ideas on introducing wholefoods & raw foods via smoothies to your babies & children. There's also a great book called "Baby Greens" that gives great ideas for first foods up to toddler stage (and it's raw). Lots of combos i just wouldn't have thought of on my own. I love that book
