Is there hope for our Fuzzi Bunz?

I had my last baby 5 years ago. I am due again in May. Last time we bought fuzzi bunz because we sent dd to daycare and it was easier for them. I personally have like prefolds and covers best. I have tons of fitted one size dipes and about 10 or prefolds that are probably still good in the newborn size so I was just going to get some more covers this time around as the ones we used last time went through 2 babies and maybe around 6 prefolds.

The other day, dh was asking about ordering more fuzzi bunz. Apparently, he prefers these. Do you think there's any hope that after 5 years the old ones are still good?
  • I've kept them in our bedroom closet rather than in our hot attic.
  • DD wore the nb/preemie size for 6 months
  • They've never been in the dryer
  • They are 5 years old

I don't see why they wouldn't work.

They are probably fine. I've been using some of my diapers for close to six years with no problems and they've sat in my living room when not in use.

What a relief! This will make dh so happy!

Just check the elastic and snaps but they should be fine to use. They seem to have been kept up well from what you said so they should be fine

Oh yeah, you're good to go! I actually heard of a gal at the ABC Expo who had a 6 year-old FuzziBunz that she still uses today!! That gives me hope, because I've got about 20 FBs that I'd like to use with our next LO, and maybe pass on after that!

Hmmm, well my FBs didn't make it. They came out of storage with the elastics shot, and more problematic, with holes in the PUL around the leg casings (possibly they went into storage that way too and I didn't notice...). Elastics can be fixed but the PUL couldn't. I lost all but two. I would check them with enough time to replace them if this has happened to yours.

I was very sad - the old-style FBs were my favourite diapers. I'm not such a fan of the new ones, although they're still some of our most trustworthy.

These weren't really stored. Just put in my closet. I may have to cave if they don't make it though and buy something for dh. I was looking at the latest styles of fuzzi bunz and I have to say that I do think I prefer the style we used with dd who was born in '05

My sister purchased a dozen medium fuzzibunz for my nephew 7 years ago,he used them for @6 months then they went into a plastic box and my dd used them 3 years later for over 18 months, they went into a box again and my neice used them a year later for a year. Fuzzi bunz ROCK. I had a huge assortment of really fun dipes for dd that I passed to my sister and as we each have a babe in dipes I purchased 18 of the new aio fuzzibunz last year when my ds was 3 months old. They are absolutely wonderful diapers and are in mint condition. I used 6 bumgenius for awhile but they take forever to dry so we just have the fuzzibunz, its boring I know but they are really wonderful.

hey ladies -

For those of you who preferred the old style fuzzibunz, they still sell them in their outlet. If you buy a set, it works out to about 12 bucks a diaper!

Awww they only ship to the US! I may see if I can work around this because I'd love to get a few new ones!

We live in Montreal and have a US mailing address in up-state New York just inside the US border.

They charge $3 to receive a small package (large boxes like pallets and furniture at $5).

If you're willing to make the trip from Ottawa the name of the place is Freeport Forwarding.

www.freeportforwarding.com/

With Fuzzi Bunz running about $23 to $28 each in Canada once you add the tax it might be worth the trip to order them for $12 from a US site. I have a bunch of Fuzzi Bunz seconds from the US and the flaws were impossible to find without making a VERY careful side-by-side inspection with a first quality.

I had my old FB (that saw HEAVY use) in storage for a few years. The elastic was shot, but it's fairly cheap to have it replaced, or you can replace it yourself if you are crafty.

I hadn't thought of that - I'm going to have to think about this one some more! Interestingly, when looking at the site, I saw that one of the flaws was "misplaced snap". Heck - I had a "first-quality" one with that flaw - I should have complained!
