Diabetes Help--cookbooks

Hi mamas--
Good friend's dd was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She's in need of a good cookbook to get her started with new meal ideas that will be healthy for her dd. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

It's not a cookbook but I've found this book really useful in helping count my carb intake. It has photos and weights for various sized portions along with their carb count.

I haven't yet found a helpful cook book, the diabetic ones I've looked at in the library tend to replace sugar with lots of sweetners, which I prefer to avoid and still seem very carb heavy.

I've only been diagnosed a few weeks so it's all new to me too.
