Do children teethe AGAIN??

DD is now 4.5 years. I just took her to ped dentist who said she looked like she might get the first of her "big teeth" at a few months after she turns 5, which is less than 6 months away from now. (She got her first tooth at 3.5 mo, and he said that sometimes there is a corellation of getting first teeth earlier and losing first tooth early...)

Anyway, so for a couple weeks, she's been biting everything. Not in a mean/angry way, but biting a blanket, trying to bite skin, etc. We ask her why and she says because it "feels good to bite".

Could this be the same as teething??? I know that's a stretch, but it seems like a coincidence that this is happening now when she might be getting ready to lose teeth??

So I guess it was a stretch. Seriously, any thoughts??

I remember teeth falling out and getting new teeth, and it does hurt, and I had the urge to chew on hard stuff. so sounds plausible to me.

I haven't experienced it but I agree it makes sense.

I wonder how many kids who get in trouble for "biting" at preschool, etc, maybe have an underlying reason why they're biting? Hmmmmm.....

I asked my big kids if they remember their 5 year molars coming in, and they said yes, but it doesn't hurt. : It has to be a little annoying, though...

My 6 has gotten one of her big molars and she complained about it hurting, a fair amount actually, we have her Tylenol more than once. Although she didn't bite anything.

It hurt my oldest quite a bit when he got his 6 year molars. I also remember it hurting as new teeth grew in to replace my baby teeth, though it hasn't seemed to have bothered my older two kids at all. I know that as an adult, I have wisdom teeth that decide to poke up every now and then and it hurts like hell until they give up and go back down again.
