Okay, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question.... if not, mods please move it to the right place
We have a ped that we love. he is friendly with us about our decision not to vax... not quick to use abx... thorough, but laid back at the same time... very gentle with DS... and I consider him to have save DS's life by detecting a MAJOR heart defect that previous family doc had missed.
So he's leaving the practice he's with and branching out on his own. We like him and want to keep him.
But he's starting his new practice based on the "medical home" model. All the info I can find on it is typical "brochure" type info. Very positive, but also kind of vague. Does anyone here know much about this model. In particular, I'm curious about the "payment" aspect of it. All the info I can find talks about recognizing the value in services that aren't necessarily face-to-face with patients. I'm sort of inferring that this will mean increased fees... but I'm not sure. I also can't really figure out how a "medical home" is really that different from a typcial primary care practice.
So, if you know anything, please tell me what you know!
