how do I protect my seat backs from my RF kid's shoes?

Since my daughter began walking well a few months ago, the back of her seat in the car is getting pretty dirty. What can I cover the backs of my seats with without messing up the car seat install? I tried a towel but she just kicks it out of the way unless I put it between her seat and the seat back and I don't know if that's okay. Besides which, any liquid on her shoes soaks right through the towel and gets on my seat anyway.

Is there some safe, waterproof solution to this problem?

take off her shoes when you get in the car. That is the easiest solution. Otherwise a towel tucked in between the seat and seat back should be fine.

Could you just use one of the plastic seat back protectors (which are meant for protecting the back of front seats from FF kids). I got mine at one step ahead, maybe 2 for $10? The straps are pretty long so you could probably configure something. I love mine...

Leather seats. probably not an option now but good for people to remember when buying cars with kids!

yeah, shoes off is really the best way. Especially in winter. My DD usually takes her shoes off in the car anyways, but in winter we makes sure to take her boots off. She usually stands up in her seat as well before we strap her in so if we don't take her boots off she ends up with a wet bum.

Shoes off! But the seat protector things work well too, or just a towel or blanket held in place by the head restraint.

We take winter boots off in the car, but I have leather so it wipes clean very easily.

Except in my experience installing car seas on leather is a PITA - well at least it has been in my mom's car.

It can be, yes. My mom's Taurus was horrible, her Explorer is super easy (and the Radian installs RF in there like a DREAM!), and my BMW X5 is easy with seatbelts (but can be difficult with LATCH).

In my experience installing car seats is always a PITA! But I have a technician do it for me.
