Iron blood test for Anemia - help

I got a script faxed to me today and they were supposed to check my CBC with diff, PT, PTT as well as Iron. I just don't see Iron checked off in the script and there is a list of things to test for with checks next to the ones they want me to test for.

Is there a different word for Iron or is it tested with the CBC with diff?

I believe it's the CBC test, because my last test just said Glucola and CBC, and she said at my appt I was a little low for iron.

Thanks! I was just tested for this back in August. How much could it have possibly changed since then? Sheesh...I"m a pin cushion!

I always ask to check my serum ferritin too because those stores will be low before you hemoglobin levels get low.

I started feeling bad at 17 weeks or so, with low iron symptoms, I had it with last pregnancy, so I recognized it and midwife okay to me starting extra iron. Even with that, I still have low iron at 28 weeks.

I had like perfect iron levels at 10 weeks (all irons checked) but by 28 I was *really* anemic... while taking prenatals!

I've been feeling fine but just some random headaches that I thought were normal or due to not drinking enough water. Anyway, I called my ob about this (written in another post) because I sat in a grated chair yesterday for five minutes and noticed last night I had a grated bruise on my butt! I wasn't okay ignoring that...

Just heard (from my mom) that iron supplements could cause one to be constipated. I'm praying that my iron levels are fine, if not, I hope to God that this won't happen in my case.

It depends, I take IronSorb by jarrow and have had no issue. Floradix also does not constipate. Ferris Fumarate usually does. It depends on the type of iron. I get constipated easily and have never had issues with those.
