Fleas!

We have fleas. Just moved into a new house, the previous owners had cats, and I think they left some fleas behind who have now moved onto my cat and dog. Or maybe they picked them up before and it's just coincidental timing. Who knows, doesn't matter. Previously, with no almost 7 month old crawling around everywhere and grabbing at the animals, I would have used Advantage. Now, I'm not so sure that's a great idea. I usually don't use toxic products, but I don't mess around with fleas. So what are your suggestions? I thought about the Program, but it takes a while. I guess I could live with that if it's less toxic (to the baby). Ideas? Cost doesn't matter (that much), I just something that works, preferably quickly & poses no threat to baby. TIA!

I haven't needed to use it, but I have some diatomaceous earth on hand in case. A couple of weeks after we got our puppy I did notice the odd flee on him and DS noticed one on him too, so I used a vibrational combo remedy (like a Bach Flower Essence) especially formulated to prevent pests in animals. Within a day or two of adding the essence to our pup's water, there were no more flee sightings, and haven't had an issue since. I add it to his water daily to make sure they don't return though.

Well, I used Advantage when we moved in and found a few fleas jumped on our pets. For me, since I react badly to flea bites it was worth it to stop that immediately. For maintenance we use Sentinal because we need to heartworm protection too.
