Possible ear infection in 9 mo

DS (9 months) has been pulling on his ear and crying so I took him to the pharmacy to see what they had in the way of ear drops. The pharmacist sold me
drops with aconitun napellus (either monkshood or wolfbane?) and since my German is not good (and medical German is worse), I just brought it home and put one drop in each ear. Now DH is looking it up on the internet and freaking that it is a poison because that is what he read.

Anyone know what it is? Any ideas that don't involve poison? sigh

ETA: He has a steady stream of drool coming out of his mouth which leads me to believe that he is also teething. And we just came back from the US on an airplane last Monday.

is it homeopathic? does it list a potency? also its uses topically for neuralgia as a tincture are very different than taking it internally in it's crude form. what else is in the drops?

I *think* it is homeopathic but I can't read the ingredient list because there are a lot of abbreviations.

It says 10g contains:

1g Aconitum napellus e tubere ferm 33c D9 oleos.
1 g Quartz D9 oleos.
.1 g Camphora
.1 g Lavandulae aetheroleum
Excip.: Arachidis oleum.

I think the D9 means 1 part per billion.

I believe that's the equivalent of 9x homeopathically. so you want to be looking at information about homeopathic aconite online-not toxic even if ingested!
