Just found this Mothering article via Ann Westendorf Fisher (Ann Larson Fisher) a post on FaceBook: Candy Experiments: "A creative mother finds an educational use for Halloween loot. And her kids are eating it up!"

I'm so doing this! Thanks for sharing, Lillian. Every year I worry about all the candy that comes into our house & have yet to come up with the perfect solution. This just may work.

How funny Lillian - I came across the following link just the other day and bookmarked it so we could play a little after Halloween.

When I was student teaching, I used halloween candy to do a lesson on place value in math. Of course in our case, the candy still got eaten, so it might not use up a lot of candy, but there are all sorts of ways to use candy to learn

Last year, we came up with the idea of doing some dissolving experiments with Halloween candy, and that was fun. Now I'm eager to try some of the other ideas. Thanks!

Our kitchen table is covered with dishes of water and OJ, each with some kind of candy in it.
DD doesn't want anything to do with eating the candy, just the experiments. Although, we do have a few pieces of candy that dd would like to keep for eating and I'm ok with that.
THANK YOU for the wonderful idea.
