Help me fix this uniform? Iron-on residue!

I bought a Girl Scout vest for DD off ebay that had patches attached. I bought it for the patches, so either way I'm okay with it. Most were sewn on, but about 6 large patches on the back were ironed on. The patches pulled right off, but they left residue on the vest.

Is there any way to get it off the vest? Dry clean it maybe? Goo-Gone?

I'd like to be able to use the vest for DD if possible as they are $14 new and I hate to spent that much if I can retrieve this one.

You could try to put papertowel or a rag on top of the spots & then iron - hopefully it'll transfer off of the vest onto the towel.

We used goof off to get the patch gunk off my son's scout shirt. Here are some directions (scroll down)

Another vote for Goof Off. It works great

I just sew the new patches on the spots where the old ones left residue. I did get some off by ironing and using a paper towel.
