HELP!! I'm at my wits end!

I have three kids, two girls, 4 and 5, and a boy 2 yo. I have never actively potty trained the girls, they just started when they were ready at 3 and 4, with no fuss or big accidents or ordeals. I am spoiled by that. Now I have a 2 yo boy who is driving me NUTS!!!
He constantly takes his diaper off, if he has clothes on, he takes them off, then the diaper. In the beginning it worked to use "tricky" clothing, but he figured that out, even snaps in the back... I taped the diapers, he figured that out. Then he started taking the diaper off and pee, I guess he found out its fun to be a boy and you can make water! And he is FAST! I turn my back for a second and there he goes... I tried putting a potty out but he will only play with it, refuses to use it for its intended purpose. If I take him to the potty he wont use it, no matter how long I let him sit on it. Obviously he just finds it soooo amusing to "make water" that it is whats driving this behavior.

Have you been in this situation? What did you do?
Any ideas or advice? If we didnt have carpets EVERYWHERE it might not be such a problem, but... we do... and we rent our house

It sounds to me that your DS is ready to live without diapers. We EC'd and it takes about one to two weeks of curiosity (peeing everywhere) for it to subside. I would just leave it be, clean up the mess right away and I don't think that it will damage the carpets too much. We rent too and have carpets and we managed. Our DS never used his potty or a children's toilet seat. Maybe it's an idea to have your DS stand on a step stool to use the toilet (just like his dad)? Try guiding him in that direction when he starts to 'free-pee' and tell him that that is the designated place for such activity.
