Talk with me about Cognitive Adrenal Hyperplasia

So the official results on our identical twins will not be back for at least one more week. They did, however, start treating them as if they had the condition 2 1/2 days ago to see if they would see improvement. The endocrinologist basically said that if we saw significant improvement then we would pretty much know this was it and just have to wait on the results to make it official. So I called for a check up tonight and there has been significant improvement! One twins has seen such HUGE improvement that his sodium has went up to 129 from the previous 108! Neither of them have vomited in 48 hours and they are finally starting to show interest in a nipple for feedings.

That being said if your child also has this could you please talk with me about this? It has been determined that the twins are definitely boys so as far as I understand it a lot of the things that are considered complications from CAH is not really a concern for us, but there are other things that we need to learn about. Like carrying around a shot for the stress hormone if they have an accident???

Anyway, this is all very, very new to us and it would really help to have someone talk with me that has btdt, so any help would be really appreciated.

Congratulations on your twins!!

Do you mean Congenital vs Cognitive? Not that I know much, but the Cognitive threw me off.

So they're in the NICU? Were they term or preemies? Are you getting the support you need?

Hang in there mama! I hope someone comes along with some info/experiences for you. Is the Geneticist being helpful with information?
