What do you have left to do? - Page 5

Wow Im exhausted and in pain this week so I haven't done really anything. Everytime I do anymore more than sitting working on things that don't require much physical work I can barely move by the end of the day. I don't remember it being this bad with the last two but last two pregnancies I didn't have two very active toddlers to take care of.  Im hoping it passes, at least the exhausion. I think part of it is Im STILL sick from when I caught a cold earlier this month. Maybe if I start feeling better from that I will start feeling better physically. Im starting being "ok" with being behind in most areas. DH said if worst came to worst his command already said that he can take a week or two off in January to help me prep the house for the baby and start the moving paperwork for our move. He doesn't want to but if thats what needs to be done that is what will be done.

I'm not even thinking about what I have left to do until after the first.  The best news?  DH is HOME from his deployment!!!  Three months early!!!!  SO I have my man, the daddy and all the help I need.  So so happy not to be going this alone.  joy.gif

I need to get going on my list.. I just lack the motivation.

I feel a motivation surge today because DH is snowed in at home and the kids are occupied with their new toys. I am going to shoot for the minestrone soup and pizza doughs to be done!

Ughs, I have no energy or drive to do anything. I think Im going to be in denial until the New Years, ahh a week of relaxing and sleeping.. Sounds good. Oh I am picking up the new car this week! Friday Im ordering a carseat.

Update:

Got the car seat yesterday, looked new, only used for 8 months, and they practically gave it away. Probably since we're friends, she could have sold it for a lot more.

And my mum said she wanted to get him the big sheepskin when I talked about it, so she's gonna do that in january.

And we're getting the old family cradle today, his cousin isn't using it anymore.

That means, all I (or really, my SO will probably do most of it) have to do in january is:

-Finish the washing of his things, just a few loads of laundry.

-Wash the cradle and the fabrics and put one of the fabric sets on.

-Get one more set of covers for his tiny comforter.

And look for a special teddy or something like that, but that is a want, and not a must really.

Oh gosh, it's so good to be so done.

I finished all the freezer meals as of this morning! My home visit with my midwife is Jan 14th. So that week I will deep clean the room. On the 14th, I will pay my final 300 and my Jan list will be done! I am getting really excited...but a little nervous too. I have been doing hypnobabies and I can't seem to "keep my lightswitch off" like last time...I hope I don't have trouble relaxing during the birth!

Pixie- I just got the baby a little stuffed giraffe. Ive been looking at this one, went to order it and it was out of stock, I was totally bummed. Went back the next day and they had 3 left in stock so I ordered it, good thing to it was sold out the next day again.

Anyone still not have the baby's coming home outfit/first outfit picked out? I haven't found anything I thought was special enough. With both girls I knew right away that would be the one but this time I can't find anything that hits me as "perfect". Of course DD2 was 4 days old (in the NICU) when we bought hers and then DH had to run home and wash it before she came home two days later.

I'm having a hard time deciding.

My twins were in the NICU for 6 weeks before they came home and by then we had been gifted two tiny preemie pink dresses that my Husband's boss had embroidered for the girls. The outfits were perfect and I will treasure them always.

For #3, I want something special, but I have no clue how big he'll be. I'm still adjusting to the idea that I'll have a "take home" baby (hopefully).

To Do for January:

Install car seat base

Clean car

Clean bedroom

Make sure there are plenty of snack and meals for the twins while my mom is watching them.

Wash baby bedding for Pack n Play

Set up Pack n Play in our bedroom

Pack hospital bag for the baby

My second was full term but we couldn't take her home :( Im always worried Im jinxing myself if I get everything ready for this one to come home and he doesn't. Although last pregnancy I just had this bad feeling she was going to end up in the NICU (even asked to see it when I was down there because the feeling wouldn't go away), this time I don't. Hopefully he comes home when I do.

I couldn't imagine doing 6 weeks by the way, 6 days was hard enough.

  I haven't even started on a coming home outfit - it will probably be a sleeper or similar, since it's FREEZING here in February.  For DS we had a onesie with 'First Ride' on it that was perfect.  Maybe I'll buy something new.  Though the last thing we need is more little clothes.

Im glad its not just me then! Both girls had really cute zip up hoodie jackets, long sleeve onesies and soft pants to wear home. I wanted to get something similar for this one but the only similar thing I found that I liked they only had in 3-6 months and larger sizes. Since 0-3 swim on my kids (even at 8 lbs 9ozs and 8 lbs 4 ozs) I can imagine how 3-6 months would look.

I need to work on stuff today but Im just wiped out for some reason. I did make a double batch of taco soup to eat some for dinner tonight and freeze the rest.

Had a spurt of motivation this morning! got a drawer all set with the baby's clothes and all blankets, diapers and that set. All I have left to do for the baby set up is put up the amby bed, which we will do end of this month. Was still motivated, so I did the room deep clean....now just to maintain it until the birth :)  I added get breastpump to the list...picking up a used one from a friend and then buying a few new parts.

-get breastpump and buy parts that it needs

1 tray lasagna- half veggie/ half meat

2 pizza doughs
1 container minestrone soup

today- i hit the jackpot! we finally found a time that worked for everyone to pick up the clothes from the colleage of my dh and.....we are set for clothes and almost for diapers. this was like another christmas! she gave me a box of cotton things and loaned me the very most amazing box of woolens that i could imagine. germans are crazy for wool- you can find it a lot more easily than in america, so.....we now have wool onsies, shirts, pants, sleepers, socks, hats, buntings, jackets, and tons of diaper covers....we could have never afforded all of this. lets hope that she isn't allergic to wool!

she also gave us two great little snowsuits and a baby hammok.

i am also supposed to meet with a mom from the kindergarten to pick up clothes this week....but where will we put it all????

putting away all of our christmas presents already required a total restucturing of our toy areas- i think that the dressers/closets are going to happen this week. we didn't get the moses basket that we ordered yet, but they sent the little matrass in the most giant padded box you could imagine- it was totally rediculous! my dh also ordered a rocking stand for it- anyone had one of these before? i don't feel like it is neccesary, but he is so happy with it.

but, i am happy- i  am starting to feel like i can really welcome a baby into the house!

i also set up a meeting with the midwife who will visit after the birth, and started the search for a helper (insurance will give us a house helper for 10 days b/c my dh has to go back to work so soon,) and we bought a matrass to go on the bed that we bought the girls a few weeks ago. it is sooo much less of a torture to go over to them in the night now than it was when we just had a futon matrass over the wooden spring things...ouch!

what i really want to do now is take down the christmas tree! i feel like a ba-humbug, but it is driving me crazy to still have all of the christmas stuff out- i want to get ready!

i think that this week i will buy a car seat and talk to the landlord about plugging in the freezer. we will also start to calk around the windows in the living room- our downstairs neighbor is a smoker and the smoke is coming up around the radiator/windows. it is frustrating enough to deal with, without a baby in the house. i hope it will work.

mcs- Im glad you were able to get all that stuff!!

Twinkle- I just now ordered the carseat soo, you are doing better than I am lol.gif

Yesterday we picked up the new car so we now have a vehicle big enough for everyone. Then last night we ordered the car seat and other last minute baby items. We got some stuff for DD1's birthday and ordered most of the rest of her presents. I still need to order the birthday supplies for her.
