Charting to Avoid / Fertility Awareness - November - Page 3

Question... have you ever seen FF give a "Hey, maybe you're pregnant!" result when you weren't pregnant? This month I got dashed-line crosshairs, which disappeared when my temp dipped below the cover line for a few days. This morning, I got a high temp and the dashed-line crosshairs reappeared on the same day they were at before... apparently, it thinks I'm 16 DPO (previously I've had AF at 10/11 DPO) We were avoiding/using condoms every time, but the timing looks good.

Oops?

I'd be surprised if I am pregnant, but I haven't had this happen before, so I'm wondering if it's common for FF to do false alarms? that doesn't really look like a pregnancy chart, does it? I'm most likely testing tonight because I won't be able to sleep otherwise, and because I'm supposed to donate blood on Sunday.

Capretta - thanks! I just snuck back in after having DD

Miss_HoneyB - We do not abstain during fertile times, just use withdrawal (I don't mind it and prefer that over condoms). We are totally ok with another pregnancy but would like to wait a little longer. I am Catholic (obviously not that strict!) and do understand the pros of abstaining...so I hope that works well for you!

The dashed lines means there are signs of ovulation after the crosshairs, like the CM. If last cycle's chart is indicitive of your cycles, it would seem like a very early ovulation. Yoiu also could've ovulated day 28.

I agree with Xerxella. It looks like you could have O'd on CD28, or it could be another long cycle and you haven't O'd yet (I notice in earlier charts that you had EWCM followed but a few days of high temps, but they dropped again, just like your recent chart). I guess only time will tell. Hopefully you will be able to see your answer more clearly in a day or two!

Thanks, both of you! This is my third cycle since going off the pill, so I'm *really* hoping they'll shorten up! The beginning of this cycle seemed a lot more stable to me, so I really thought I'd ovulated. At any rate, I took a test and it was negative (yay/boo) I hope FF doesn't start doing this to me on a regular basis, I started charting in large part to keep myself from psyching myself into thinking I'm pregnant!

miss_honeyb: We aren’t abstaining during fertile times. Until a few months ago we were using barriers thinking of the whole cycle as potentially fertile. I’m quite comfortable with a failure rate of 1-2%. (I think that’s about the max I’ve seen claimed for NFP, by the way.) I’m also with the previous posters who like to take advantage of the libido surge. Also, we’re atheists, so no religious motivation for us either.

Mummoth: Welcome (back)! Peeking at your chart though, it looks like you might not be sticking around too long. Come back and let us know!

angelxxrose: Congrats on your DD!

How do you share your chart from Fertility Friend?

Also, abstaining 100% didn't quite happen for us this go-round... But I am having such an ambiguous temperature shift I didn't know *how* long we'd be abstaining!! It seems now like the shift has happened, but it's still not as clear-cut as I'd like to see.

Also, has anyone ever gotten EWCM on/after their temp shift?
Miss Honey B - I can get EWCM right before AF and for a day after the shift.

I can't seem to lenghten my LP. I've been taken B vitamins and a fertility blend. We'd really like the start TTC in Decemeber, but I don't think I could hold a pg with a LP so short. Anyone have any other ideas on how to lengthen a LP?

Hi ladies...could you move me to the graduates list? We stopped avoiding pretty much soon after my D&E but I kept forgetting to ask to be moved. Also I'm pretty sure I won't be doing any charting for a while:

AnnieA: Sure thing! Congratulations! (I'd insert a smilie, but I'm having issues)

I made a wiki! About Fertility Awareness Method. Check it out! Make it better!

Hey, ladies!  I am new here, and need some help CTA.  I use fertility friend - the free web version.  Can someone help me link my chart??

Also, does anyone have any advice on temping when you are waking up with toddlers at like 2 and 3 am and then going back to sleep and waking up at 6:00am for the day.  Are those temps okay?

When you are logged in to FF, hover over "Sharing" in the left hand column and then click on Home Page Setup. It will list your Home page web address. Just copy and paste it here. Also, as long as you are getting 3 consecutive hours of sleep, temping before you get up and start moving around and you are temping around the same time every morning, you should be fine.

Hi!  wave.gif

I'm new to charting (and the thread).  I started charting when TTC DD (our first and only) in the Spring of '08, but after two weeks of temps I realized I was already pg.

So I tried two types of HBC after DD weaned at 18 mos, and have struggled with it, which was a big surprise considering I'd never had problems with it pre-pg. So now I'm going to chart for real and see what happens.  I'm going to try to link my chart--someone let me know if it doesn't work, please!

chart

FWIW, I'm 29, DD is 20 mos., and this is my first real chart!  I've already discarded today's temp (only my second one) because I couldn't find the thermometer and was up and moving around when I temped.  So at this point I'm relying mostly on CM, which seems to be a pretty clear indicator.  Weird that I never knew this before!  And we're withdrawing, JIC.  Huz is scared, although really, another child would be welcome.  Looking forward to learning from you gals!

Thanks! Hope this works here is my chart

So day CD23 is way late for me to O, and CM  doesn't make sense?? In past charts I would O anywhere between CD16-20. Anyway, I will have to see what happens.  I am concerned about a possible short LP. My LP is usually 10 days.  Does anyone know how short is too short for am LP?

Thanks.  I tried to post with a link and it looks like it worked, but since I am so new to MDC forums it says it is under review.  Is there a minimum post count for posting links? Hopefully it will show up soon.

Well... Looks like I need to be moved to the graduates thread. I got my BFP yesterday, and needless to say I am SHOCKED! This cycle has been so weird, I O'd earlier than ever. So, Oops! But a very, very welcomed Oops at that!

So, #3... ready or not, here we come!!

A big WELCOME to fnpmama and justKate

heh. Looks like they are working on the smilies. We still don't have a full set.

I'll put you both in the OP. fnpmama: There wasn't any minimum post count for posting links before. I don't know if that changed.

shells_n_cheese: To graduates you go!

Reading in the software transition thread, JessicaS mentions that we can now imbed images (e.g. our charts) in post. Check it out.

Looks like it might be a little bit harder to read, but could still be useful.

oh, that's so exciting!

CD 1 from me.  Horrible cramps.

I have a question...  I seem to regularly (not always) get a sore throat with AF...  I really thought I was getting sick.  I've had a sore throat for several days and then I woke up with cramps and I could barely swallow my pain killers because my throat hurt so bad.  I thought I was doomed to get sick but now I'm fine, 1/2 a day later.  What the heck?  Why do I get a sore throat?
