Oh, man, would I love a summer baby. DS birthday is right between Tgiving and Christmas, and it is such a pain in the neck to plan a birthday party in the middle of all the craziness. In fact, if it takes a while to get pregnant, I may take Feb and Mar off so as not to have another holiday season baby. (Although, by then I'll probably be to anxious to take any time off ) July sounds perfect-- there's nothing else going on, and we can have outside birthday parties. I know it will be tough to be very pregnant in the heat, but it's worth it. And, then the baby will be a few months old for next holiday season, so I won't be freshly post-partum while trying to do everything. (hm, I'm kind of fixated on the holidays, eh? lol!)

In other news, I'm feeling so sluggish today and can't get my head in the game. We've been watching too much TV, and I just called out of work for tonight. I just need to stay home. AND, I'm on CD10, so I've got some important work to do tonight

As a child born 3 days before Christmas, I always wanted a birthday within the school year or around my half birthday instead. It was tough that everything came all at once at one time of the year when everyone was celebrating anyway. 'Ya know?

Still, I'll take a pregnancy the day I get it! But if I do have a winter baby, I'm going to celebrate the half birthday!

Wow, a birthday THREE DAYS before Christmas?? That much be tough! I thought mine was bad, but it's ten days before Christmas, so there's a little breathing room. Did you get the "here's your birthday/Christmas present?" It bothered me when I was kid... I don't care now. My mom was great about it, though. When I was very small, she wouldn't decorate until after my birthday so I wouldn't get confused, and she always got upset if people wrapped my birthday present in Christmas paper. She still gets upset. Anyway, I agree with you, I'll take a baby any day I can get it, even if it's Christmas day, at this point!

I'm doing good at staying relatively "stress free" today - yoga and eating right really does help! I'm just waiting (impatiently) for O...

DH and I agreed to skip TTCing around March if I wasn't pregnant by then in order to avoid a Christmas baby. Anyways if I am not pregnant by then, I'm sure a month off would do me good! I doubt I would be able to take any other month off because the thought "what if this was our month" would drive me nuts all month.

I can't stop TTC.. even when the GI doctor told my mom last week that any baby I conceived would end in a m/c.. what does she know?? She's the butt doctor and last time I checked the butt was completely different than the baby making parts. (just being a smart no disrespect intended).

The toughest part about having that birthday and sharing it with a holiday in the winter for me being a girl.. was that I never got any summer clothes. As a teenager that was such a bummer. My little sister would go nuts on my birthday because she didn't get open presents and I did 3 days before her. So my mom would have to cave in and give her something. Now I don't really mind the date.. as I've gotten up there in the years I don't really want anyone to make a big deal about it, and I get to choose something to do that the DH wouldn't really be psyched about doing to celebrate.. Like going to the Crystal Cathedral to see the Christmas pageant.

My DS's b'day is December 21 (mind you, he was due on the 8th... )

In some ways we're lucky - because we're in the southern hemisphere, it falls in the summer holiday, so he has his party (if he has one) around the end of school (which is about a week before). Then we have a family dinner on his birthday.

I'm hoping for an end-of-winter baby...

These are all the same exact reasons I would LOVE a summer baby! Especially that they'll be a few months old by the holidays. Nora was only like 8 weeks old when the holidays came around and it was so tough juggling a newborn and family stress. Ugh!!

6 dpo today! Only one more week til I'll know either way. Trying to just enjoy my time w/DD and breathe. It'll happen when it happens. Every cycle I fantasize that it's the best.time.ever to have a baby, that no other birth month will feel as right, etc. But the truth is that whenever another baby comes, it will be perfect. Christmas baby, spring baby, summer baby, fall baby. I'll take whatever!!

ds1 was born december 30th and i have always vowed never to say "here's your bday/Christmas present." if i can't justify doing that in july, why do it to him in december? i don't want his birthday to ever be overshadowed and i hope i can always make sure it isn't, even if he has to get a half birthday present!

our main reason for wanting a summer baby though is that we have colicky babies and i think being able to get OUT more will help ease the situation (although i'm still hoping for one of those babies who acts like everyone else's newborn next time around!) actually 2 reasons-i don't like to jog in the cold! LOL i want to be able to jog after baby.

Ok, now I am in full fantasize-about-a-summer-baby mode!

Other reasons I would LOVE a July baby:

-By the time I'm getting big, it's time to get out warm weather clothes. No frumpy sweaters and long sleeves and boots when I'm already feeling fat.

-I can wear sundresses and flip flops when I'm REALLY big.

-I've always wanted to wear a bikini while very pregnant. (I may feel differently when the time comes )

- Being post partum when it is warm and light sounds so much better than winter time. Dec and Jan were such loooonnngg daaarrrrkkk months when DS was a newborn. I hated watching the sun set knowing I had such a long night ahead of me.

- Being able to get outside everyday during those first months sounds so much better than being stuck inside. Days when DS and I could go for a walk in those first months were SUCH BETTER DAYS than the ones we couldn't.

I do wonder, though, how to manage a newborn who wants to be swaddled when it's very hot? I was thinking about inventing like a gauze "blanket" to swaddle a baby but not be too hot! Haha!

Copper.Kettle.. those are fabulous things to think about. This thread is much more fun this month. Wearing a bikini while pregnant sounds really cool, since I would never put one on now.. It's nothing but the fact that I don't get in the sun enough that my belly is snow WHITE! But I think being in the pool while really pregnant would feel so great - and yeah, who can fault a beautiful pregnant lady for wearing a bikini. Love it!

Speaking of pregnant ladies in a bikini - I just saw pregnant pictures of Alanis Morrissette online, and I thought she was beautiful! I love it when pregnant people wear bikinis!

I've always wanted to be at the "very pregnant" staged in either spring or summer, mainly because I'm very tall and don't know where I'd find maternity pants that are long enough!

Man, I just canNOT find my groove this week. I've been sluggish, and tired, eating like s*it, slacking on the exercise, watching too much TV with ds.... Blah. I vacillate between telling myself "muscle through it! suck it up and get back in the game! the only way out is through!" and "if you feel crappy, go with it. slow down, listen to your body". It messes with me, and I start wondering how I'm going to make it through a first tri, or take care of 2 kids in general.

I'm approaching O, so maybe it's hormonal? IDK, I just hope I sart feeling normal soon.

Ack, what a Negative Nellie I am today!! Hope y'all are having a better Thursday!!

Oh Copper.kettle.. I hope you take the easy route and let your body rebuild it stores! If your body didn't need you to take it easy - you would be up and going. Halloween just passed, which I am sure was busy with your ds. I would try and make something super nourishing for dinner and try to go to bed early. You want a good strong O!

Dh is taking bath duty right now, ds will be in bed soon, I'm having a cocktail, and allowing myself to just lay low.

Tomorrow I'm taking ds to get his pictures done, so that will be SUPER fun! And I am going to exercise tomorrow come hell or high water.

Any new regimes, ie herbs, medications, mantras etc: Started yoga this week (loving it!), drinking LOTS of water, and taking B-Complex (third cycle).

Any new regimes, ie herbs, medications, mantras etc: Same vitamins. I started drinking a cup of green tea each day, I read that it's supposed to help CF. I really want to start drinking RRL tea, but I can't find any. All the tea online seems to be loose, and I'd rather have it in a bag. Any tips?

Do you have any stress triggers: I just found out another friend had a m/c this week. It feels like all my friends are having/have had losses, which makes me nervous.

What is working to help you be stress-free this cycle: Starting to plan for the holidays and DS's birthday, which is stressfull but distracting

Partners feelings if applicable: He's totally on board and having fun. He brought up names for a baby the other day and we've been talking about it off and on everyday; so FUN!!

Plans for this weekend: Hopefully making a baby And, it's my weekend off which I LOVE. I'm running in a 5 mile road race on Sunday and then having our traditional Pats game gathering.

Symptoms if they apply: I'm just feeling so much better than last week. It's great!

When are you thinking of testing: Because of my terrible iron level, I'm thinking I'm most likely out - but if doesn't show..

Thoughts: I'm really glad that I found out why I was feeling so lousy.. that maybe it has something to do with not being able to C. I'm hoping to speedily recover this iron deficiency and so many awesome people on MDC gave me support and good advice. I just feel so thankful.

Appointments: Next week, I'll have my blood drawn again to see if I've made any improvements.

Any new regimes, ie herbs, medications, mantras etc: Same as last week, 2 antibiotics, prednisone but the Dr. added more iron. I have a new mantra at work, "You're not going to get to me!"

Do you have any stress triggers: Right now, nothing is stressing me.

What is working to help you be stress-free this cycle: Knowing the problem and having a solution that I can work on!

Partners feelings if applicable:He knew that I am in my fertile time.. I was totally impressed and we're still trying. (or he really just wanted the A.M. BD)

Plans for this weekend: Same as Copper we'll keep trying to make a baby.. but we're having Thanksgiving early so that my parents can celebrate before they have to return to Paris for my dad's job AND we're having family pictures taken on the beach on Sunday.
