winter book basket [ahead of time..]

Thread Starter
I'm just sorting through my books this morning, and my winter book basket is really pathetic. I've got a few [Ollie's Ski Trip, The Snow Children..] but that's really it besides The Spirit of Christmas which I just remembered I have.

What's going into your holiday/winter book basket?

I like Book for Bramble, Wild Christmas Reindeer ( beautiful illustrations), the snowy day, Christmas in the Big Woods (picture book based on Laura Ingals books), the Chanukah Guest.

Look up "Stopping by Woods On A Snowy Evening" by Susan Jeffers.
It's beautifully illustrated and such a magical poem to begin with- one of our favorite winter books.

Oh man...you all just sent me on a book binge! I've been so distracted the past year with divorce and moving and going back to school...now I think the coming season change is the perfect time to get back into the swing of things! We already have the Snow Children and Winter, (huge favorites!) but I just supplemented a few from your list--yay for very affordable paper-backs! Now to find the perfect corner in our little house for a seasonal display (that won't be destroyed by the pesky kitten!).

Oh...on the same idea...does anyone know of any nice picture books about St. Nicolas -- leaving out shoes, etc? I'm not sure how to introduce that to DS...he's going to jump straight to Santa.
