OMG Kathy...I can't even imagine.  Wow. :hug

DS is having a wicked eczema outbreak again.  So much so that he woke up last night whining about it.  Arm crooks, backs of knees, near armpit, butt...not very nice.  Honestly, it's been worse since we've eliminated food than it almost ever has been.  The latest is either weather, or pomogranate (it keeps underlining...I have no idea how to spell it, apparently, and for some reason my pc won't show the right way, MDC is making the option copy/paste instead lol) and other sals.  He had a few bites of pom maybe Thurs, and next day had some eczema.  Yesterday, he ate a bunch of Yummy Earth gummy worms and poof! covered with eczema. :(  This sucks.  On the bright side, now he knows what the food is doing to him and might make things a little easier.  He is very bored with the food and becoming increasingly harder to feed.  I bought some watermelon to trial, it's supposed be less reactive, so we'll see.  Pom. obviously didn't work out very well, but if his eczema clears up I'll let him try in a couple days.  I'd like to see how DD2 handles it, too.  I could use more food too!  I did tell DS what he could do to help his body along...up his mag, his vitamins, and epsom baths, so he should be more eager to do what he needs to do.  Should I get him more MO?  Straight drops?  He's taking Thorne trace minerals which I think has 50mcg and is 67% daily value...maybe I should get more into him?  And DD2, also.  She doesn't always drink the whole drink I give her with her things mixed in, so maybe a drop of that direct would better?

It's darn near impossible to OD on Mo.  I'd up them both significantly and see what happens.  I have the drops, and 3 drops is 150mcg.  I aim for 2-3 droppersFULL each day.  Which is very likely excessive, but I'm in overshoot land, that's what's working for us right now.  (The OD stuff is mainly very slowly depleting copper and zinc, I'm supping those too so not very worried.)

Yeah. Exactly that.

And someone needs to kick your brothers' bums. Although I can totally see my brothers doing the same thing, if I were in your situation. Not that my family's exactly the family you want to be emulating... Heh. In fact, I'm pretty sure that what I just said proves they're not! Love em to death. Love em more from afar. :p

Here is some information from Carter's website:

Is Carter’s sleepwear treated to prevent flammability?

We design our children’s sleepwear with a combination of fabrics and fits that do not require treatment with harsh chemicals to prevent flammability.

Carter’s polyester sleepwear is naturally flame resistant, while our 100% cotton sleepwear is tight fitting, and therefore does not require additional fabric treatment. All Carter’s sleepwear products are clearly labeled as “sleepwear.” Only garments labeled as such should be considered sleepwear.

All of our sleepwear products are created with children’s safety, health, and comfort in mind, and meet Consumer Product Safety Commission requirements.

I read somewhere that all they do with polyester (which is not a "natural" product) is make it with the chemicals built right in.  Carter's was a target at one point because they wouldn't say what chemicals they put in to make their polyester flame retardant.

Don't say that.  Please, please don't say that.  I wonder if it applies to fleece bought by the yard?  If only I could remember the manufacturer I bought that roll from...  brb

Mamafish9 -- can you link me to the mo you get again?  I can't find the post, and, of course, I didn't save the link...sorry!!

RE fleece -- I read the same thing, that they impregnate the material with something to make it flame-resistant in the manufacturing process, but I don't know if it's ALL fleece, or just fleece intended for kids' pj's.

Fabric not intended for kids PJs is normally not flame resistant.  For PJs, manufacturers can go two routes - spray on the flame retardant later, or build it into the fabric.  The sprayed on stuff is probably worse (probably ends up out of the fabric & in your kid more - but it also means it likely doesn't wash out with wash soda.

I just sleep my kiddo in leggings or long underwear, rather than PJs, that way I don't have to stress.

Can't find who makes it right now, but I'll definitely be checking bolts next time I'm at the store!

Never knew that about fleece/poly pj's. Glad my kids sleep in cotton. Though with the pj's they fit SO snugly that I have to go up at least 2 sizes usually, even on my super-skinny kids. Crazy.  Or they sleep in shorts and t-shirts.

Kathy that sounds like no fun at all.  I LOVE the idea of the tattoos though!

I'm lost as usual so big hugs to everyone else having a rough weekend!

We went to a bday party today. Of course we couldn't eat anything there. I'd planned to bring some Udi's muffins to sub for the cake the kids wouldn't get, but couldn't find them today. We have 2 more birthday parties in the next few weeks so I think I'll stock up at WF next time I go.

My system is going haywire. I tried on a new t-shirt from Walmart the other night. The next morning, I took a shower and washed my hair with baking soda with a very diluted vinegar rinse. Suddenly my whole chest, back and upper arms were covered in itchy hives. When I scratched or rubbed the itchy areas, skin began peeling off! I was still under the hot water at this point, so I scrubbed like crazy and the itching mostly subsided. When I got out of the shower I finally saw them - it looked like I'd been attacked by an angry swarm of mosquitoes, and the hives perfectly followed the outline of the tank I'd been wearing when I tried on the shirt.  I took a dose of bendadryl and the hives and itching finally went away for good. I've NEVER reacted like that to anything. I've never even had hives!  Did I initiate some sort of detox with the baking soda & hot water??

Kids are still not sleeping well, but DS seems much calmer... most of the time. :)  They stayed with DH's parents for a few hours Friday night while we had a very nice little date. When we went to pick them up, MIL complained about not being able to give them cheese... then DS pipes up "I ate TWO yogurts!"  He was up most of the night, and so snotty the next day... /sigh :lol

tsfairy- probably just the hot water.  Heat will bring hives out to the surface.  Hope they go away soon!!

I am not liking that so many of you are suffering lately.  You all need a break -- a few weeks of feeling good and nothing going wrong.  Let's see if this works:  dust.gif

I think I'm getting a sinus infection.  :(

DD is doing much better though.  The first couple days after the procedure had me pretty worried that maybe we'd made a BIG mistake by letting her get that anesthetic.  She was just not right.  DP didn't really notice, except that she was hyper, but it was so much more than that.  Really frightening.  :(

Jessica - glad to hear dd is doing better. you had me worried about the anesthesia. they put a big red band on my wrist with my foods on it even though I said they were "only" intolerances and not allergies. The nurse said "you don't want them right?" and I said "well, yeah" and she said "well, this way you won't get them" so they said they'd check everything against them. So who knows what anesthesia I got.

tsfairy (and no, I can't figure you out from your name) - my DH has very sensitive skin and he will not wear any new clothes without them being washed first (all free & clear). He has reacted to clothes before. not even socks. Everything has to be washed before wearing. So it may have been something they put in the clothes.

My mother is freaking out about my on and off puking the last week and thinks I should call a doctor but I don't know what kind of doctor I'd even call. I'm on so many meds and have so many food issues, I don't know why they'd be able to figure it out. I'm just chalking it up to all the stresses that my body is under and ignoring it. But she keeps worrying (and thus hovering). But hey, she's doing my grocery shopping for me this morning so I shouldn't complain. I wish I could figure it out but haven't so far. I'm also itchier than I normally am and can't figure out if that's one of the meds or not. I thought that the thyroid meds were helping my dry skin but it pretty much came back. I'm curious to know what my numbers are going to be like when they recheck them.

school nurse just called. DS is coming home with a stomachache. I'm glad DH is home to go pick him up. His lip rash has been getting worse each day. I hope it's not a new food that he's still eating. And of course the nurse complained that he didn't have enough food in his lunchbox...

That sucks.  :(  But why on earth is the school nurse checking his lunch?  That seems a little beyond her scope of duties.

So I have a question for everyone.... we tried applesauce and apples again this week, and they again both failed (loose poop.)  But we've been using applebutter on waffles all week, and no problems that I can see.  :scratch  wth?!

Maybe because it is cooked?  Did you do applesauce and apples the same day?  I know my mom can't eat most raw fruit, but can eat them cooked.

She can't do the applesauce either.  She could for a few months, and then it started bothering her too.  We've only done raw apples a few times, and not on the same day as applesauce.  Maybe because she's eating such a small amount, as opposed to applesauce.  hmm.

New clothes are often treated with formaldehyde and other lovely stuff (so bugs don't eat them during shipping).  I'm guessing you got that on your skin, and then either the hot water, baking soda, or vinegar reacted with the formaldehyde (or made your skin more porous), so you had the reaction.  Ugh!

Applebutter is usually made with applesauce (or mine is, at least).  So guessing it's either a volume thing (a little is OK, a lot isn't), or it's the type of apple used - can you tell what apple variety was used in your apple butter vs. applesauce?
