Rethinking seat for new baby

I was previously going to go with the Cocorro but I'm rethinking that after reading about all the install issues people have had. Can someone help me figure this out?

Car: 2007 VW Passat Wagon
Kids: 2 yo DS and Newborn due any time (both RFing of course)
Currently: DS rides RFing in a Radian XTSL on the passenger side outboard secured by LATCH and top tether. Got a good ~35* install but I will not claim it was remotely easy to do.

The Radian will NOT fit at any more of a recline as DH and I are both TALL (I'm 5'9, DH is 6'4") so we need a seat that is 1) narrow enough to fit next to DS' seat (need a useable back seat) 2) fits newbies and 3) doesn't take up much room front to back RFing

It will need to install with a seatbelt and I'd REALLY prefer that it have lock-offs because I just don't deal super well with locking clips or retracting seatbelt installs in most cars.

TIA!

What about a True Fit?

Truefits are super wide. AFAIK Passats are prety small cars. And I can *not* imagine having the space for a 3-across with a truefit. And, I personally, *HATE* my tfp - its a major PITA to install. Would *never* purchase another. Ever.

Ahh, yes, didn't catch the 3-across thing! Hmm, it's hard to think of a convertible other than the Coccoro that will do all you ask for. have you actually tried a Coccoro in your car yet? Could you order one from Diapers.com or another place with free return shipping (or, find a friend with one) to test it in your car? It certainly is narrow, compact, fits newbies, and CUTE!

I really think the Coccoro is your best bet. There's a recline block available from Combi that helps with the RFing install issues. I would order it from somewhere with free return shipping and try it out.

I used to use my truefit rf'ing in a 3 across my Mazda Protege. It puzzles well with a ff'ing Scenera, oddly enough. Also puzzles well with a Radian as long as they are facing the same direction.

If you need 3-across I would get a Coccoro I've never had a problem installing mine, and if you do have issues you can use the recline block. I read through the OP 3 times and still don't a mention of a 3-across, but I haven't had coffee yet

Oh, I should mention: the MyRide and the Radian puzzle together very well (it's nearly magical ). A MR + Radian facing the same direction take up less room than 2 Radians. So I'd go for one of those.

I don't need 3 seats across, just the ability to put someone in the third seat in the back so I can't put my carseats both outboard. Does the MyRide have lockoffs? Anyone know if they carry them at Toys R Us so I can test one?

Is your center seat lap belt only or lap/shoulder?

TF puzzles with the radian b/c the flared out bit on the TF goes over the edge of the radian. I love the TF!

Can you get a radian at more of a recline in the center poking between the 2 front seats?
