Feeling movement later in subsequent pregnancy?

Wondering if anyone has had this experience, bc it is starting to stress me out a tiny bit.

With my first pg, I felt movement at 19-20 weeks. By then they were hard kicks. I missed the flutter stage totally.

With my second pg, I felt flutters around 14 weeks and was feeling predictable, daily movement by 16weeks. Nothing huge, but I could sit quietly and feel baby whenever I wanted to. (I'm positive it was 16weeks, bc I had an abruption w/ this pg at 16w5d and I was recording fetal movement daily from that point on)

This pg- I'm currently 16w2d with twins. I've felt flutters, certainly. Starting around 14 weeks again. I thought they were progressing into real movements, but I honestly haven't felt ANYTHING in the last 4-5 days. and I've tried all the tricks I know- from juice and lay down, to bath, to ice on belly for a minute. I'm starting to get worried. My OB's office isn't concerned- I had an US last Tuesday (when I was still feeling flutters) and both babies were fine. They say it is still early, and I know it is, but the fact I was feeling such dramatic movement in my last pg by this point and the fact my flutters have disappeared is really what is worrying me.
Has anyone felt movement LATER with a subsequent pregnancy?

ETA: I asked about placenta location- baby A's placenta is nice and posterior. Baby B's is kind of wrapped around the side of my uterus- the nurse said not enough to call a true anterior placenta bc, as my uterus grows, it will likely be pulled back to posterior. She also thought it would not impact movement.

I have felt movement early with all of my babes -- 14 weeks with #1, 10 weeks with #2 and 3 and 9/10 weeks with this one, but this is the quietest babe so far( I am 17 weeks). There are days I don't really feel much of anything or it is more fluttery. I have yet to feel a really hard kick, just smaller movements.

I'm sure everything is fine, you have had a rough road with things to worry about though!

Thanks, nadia, that's reassuring to hear someone else has had the experience.

I have had a worry-filled pg so far. (I almost titled my post "Another week, another worry" ) I actually think that since my pg started off so rocky, it is really hard for me to relax and get into the groove, yk?

Hearing you mention that your is a quiet babe makes me wonder- my DD (my second pg) is a super high-energy, high-spirited kiddo. She never, ever holds still. Maybe that's why I felt her so much- she was a high spirited fetus- and maybe these LOs are *gasp* calm babies?!? Could it be?

I am almost 15 weeks and still barely feeling anything if at all. With dd, I was feeling consistent movements by now, starting at 11 weeks, and dh could feel movements from the outside at 16 weeks. Dd is a super high need never sleeps even still type of kid so I'm praying that this one is calm...lord knows I could use a calmer baby. Oh and as far as I know placenta is posterior.

I haven't been feeling a ton of movement with this baby either. I think all pregnancies are different. I had convinced myself that there was something wrong last week before my appointment and I was really nervous. The nurse picked up the HB on doppler right away and the baby moved like mad for the next few days. I think we ticked it off! Now it's back to being quiet again. I think it's early to expect much regular movement. It's hard to be patient though!!

I am on my second pregnancy (well third...I lost my first...) and this time it was later that I felt movement. By 20 weeks I had only just started feeling it, but I can assure you that now at 25 weeks there is tons going on in there!

I was worried too because everything says you feel it sooner on subsequent pregnancies, but I just think that last time I was really in tune to feeling the movement (since it was my first child I spent a lot of time hanging out just waiting to feel stuff) and I think my first child was/is a more active kid. This time around I'm much more busy (chasing after my first) and I think this one is a little more laid back.

I'll be interested to see if the personality of this baby is more laid back that ds when he/she is out of the womb.

I definitely wish you calm babies! They are relaxing in there, so hopefully you get to relax too!

I'm pregnant with my fourth and this is the latest I felt movement, I didn't get consistent, for sure movement until something like 20 weeks or even later. My first I got it at 16 weeks. I had a fair bit of freaking out over it but everything is totally fine. I'm 39 weeks now and everything is going very well. I think my muscles are more relaxed with each subsequent pregnancy.

HTH

oh, and congratulations on twins!!!

I have recently been wondering about the same thing. I felt DD1 move around 20w, and DD2 around 12w and regularly by 16. I am 18 weeks and am still having a hard time telling if what I'm feeling is the baby.

A couple of friends have said that they felt 3rd, 4th + babies move later, that made me feel better.

With DD I had consistent movement by 18 weeks, this time around it wasn't until about 21 weeks that I was feeling it regularly.

I started feeling the *occasional* flutter around 16 weeks, and then real movement at 17-18 weeks both times.

I was starting to feel a little paranoid because everyone was telling me I would feel movement sooner, but nope, right around the same time.

I'm 28 weeks now (actually thought I was 27 weeks until an hour or two ago, oops!), but the difference in movement this time around, is that the first couple of weeks of movement with my first, was gentle little movements that I could totally ignore because they weren't super strong. This kid has been pummeling me from the inside since 19 weeks.

I'm 16 weeks too and I have been feeling flutters for awhile now but am still not feeling regular strong movements yet. I think what you're feeling is totally normal and try not to worry about it, if that's possible! In a few weeks time I'm sure you'll be feeling regular strong movements.
