November Whatever Thread - Page 20

Oh, mw - update us!  I really want to know how things are going.  hug2.gif

AFM - my bbs hurt so incredibly bad I had to take off my bra and put on a sports bra.  I am all to aware this could and probably means nothing, so I'm having a beam and diet coke to chillax.

JJ - It only takes one spermie!  Don't count yourself out just yet, hun!  DD was conceived with just O-2 and a negative opk.  Go figure.  I'm really super glad we're waiting together.  Maybe whatever is in the water in this thread this month will rub off on us! Sheepish.gif

JJ ~ I can understand comparing BD timing and thinking more is better. Many times, though, it's not. Less can be better. BD right after O can be very good girl timing. ;) Seriously, from what I've read, as long as it's within 12 hours of O it's still good for getting pg.

I got my u/s. The doc asked me as he was doing it if I had regular 28 day cycles. I told him they've been more like 35 days but I didn't tell him that I think I Oed a week later. I didn't want to worry about it at that point.

To my total shock we actually saw the heartbeat! It was beating at 127 bpm. That may seem low but it's actually fast for my GA. I read that at 5w, when the heart just starts beating, it only beats about 80-85 bpm and increases 3 bpm each day. That means at 5w3d it should only be 94 at the most. The article I read said this is so exact that docs can actually determine GA by the heart rate.

The baby measured at 6w and the gestational sac was at 5w1d. The doc was a little concerned about the size of the sac. He told me to drink more fluids and everything should be fine next week. I'm not worried about that, either, since it's only 2 days behind my GA. I can't believe the baby is measuring bigger (very subjective, obviously could be off by a few days) and we saw the heartbeat, though! I've looked over my chart again and again and I just don't see anyway I could have Oed earlier, especially when my hCG at 9dpo was only 10.

I'm scheduled for another scan next Tuesday. The doc wants to make sure the heart rate increases and the baby is growing. He said that with my history I could get a scan every week until I get to 12w. I'm not sure I want to do that. I'll just go week by week and see how I feel.

I'm good for now.

Yay! Heartbeat! joy.gif

I just *knew* it was going to be good -- no great -- news!!

MW: joy.gif  That's incredible!  I agree, I don't think you can put O any earlier.  smile.gif

Thanks everyone. I'm still in shock. Everything I read said that it wasn't possible to see the heartbeat so early. It is incredible.

MW: Just popping in to share the joy, yay!!! I'm so excited for you.

MW- Yeehaw!!! heartbeat.gif I'm so pumped for you! Pun intended, I guess biglaugh.gif  Thanks for the heads up about the post search! That's nuts. I'll be deleting my crazy dream now!

Thanks for reminding me it's early to get a positive. I think I could go either way really. My bbs really hurt a lot, those feverish temps and the super umcomfortable cramping I had yesterday are ultimately all I have to go on right now. Only thing that's different from any other month.  Err, I mean (think positive, think positive)....I'm just waiting for confirmation!

Oh, and while I am at it - congrats to AnnieA and MovingMomma!

I have been meaning to do that forever..............gonna blame it on pregnancy brain :)

MW: that is so great! it is a very positive thing, I think! to see the heartbeat. breathe! When does your DH come home?

Imagine if all of us were able to "graduate" by the New Year? How lovely would that be? AFM, still nada, waiting to O. I think I might peek in the loooong cycles group on the TTC board. Did I mention? I went to see my OB/GYN - well, he delivered DS, though I saw the midwives in the practice while I was pregnant - and all he said was my cycles were long b/c of nursing, and all he wanted to offer me was Clomid if I was really interested in becoming pregnant right away. which kind of shocked me, we haven't even established if I am ovulating, or when, or not. ugh. anyway . . . .DS is down to 4-5 nursings a day. I would love it to be 2-3 . . .I am not really ready to be done, but I am ready for it to be less.

Hey annie and Toolip. Thanks! How are you guys doing?

Toolip, that is funny. I catch myself doing that all the time. I'll be talking to my dad, say, and I'll start to tell him about a conversation I had with a friend and realize it was on here. Then I'm not sure how to describe it. My family knows I'm not a very social person so they probably wonder when, where and how I talk to all these other people considering I don't get out of the house much. LOL

katrina ~ I wish I could remember what that website is. It was really freaky. I don't worry about it too much with my username(s) on other sites but the one I use here is a bit more identifiable. I do know that some people track internet posting, too, because I've heard of some freaky stuff happening because of it.

Kinder ~ You've still got plenty of time.

My dh gets home in about 2 weeks. I've been trying to figure out how to tell him. I thought a card with the u/s pics in it might be cool if I can find the right card. I may have to go with a blank one. I think I tried to do that once before and couldn't find any pg announcement cards that were directed toward a partner.

yay for babies and heartbeats!!! that is so the most awesome sound!

yesterday i had the lowest temp ever. after a couple days of the same temps. and i had twinges like i o'ed. and i had cm. i just might be gettingmy cycles back. the thing is that the temp i took was after i woke up and walked around for 2 hours. so i went to the adjuster site and it said that if i took it at the right time it should have been even lower. do you know how that works after you woke up? i am obsessing over whether or not i o'ed. and also do you usually o on the side you had the pain?

Jennifer ~ If I get up and go to the bathroom, go back to bed and then take my temp, it's always lower. Doing that doesn't count. You can't use that temp. I don't know whether or not you always O on the side you feel the pain. I've only had that confirmed once when I just happened to have an u/s right after having severe O pains. The corpus luteum cyst was on the same side I had the pains.

That reminds me that I was going to try to figure out if the baby had implanted on the side I had those sharp, stabbing pains the day before I got my BFP. I could really tell. It seemed like the doc was looking pretty much straight on but the u/s wand may have been pointed slightly to my right, which is the side where I felt the pain. So, who knows? Maybe I'll be able to tell more next week.

Yes, it is. That's why I said I had it confirmed once. I don't know if it works that way every time, though. One confirmation is not enough to make a conclusion about every other time.

true. lol.

that reminds me. i had totally forgotten about this. i feel kinda stupid. lol.

when DD2 was 4 mo old i had pain in an ovary. it was bad and i thought i was having a cyst burst. it had happened before years before that. so the doc sent me for a US. and they seen a cyst. they said it looked normal and sent me on my way. i never thought about it again. i wonder if i o'ed then or if my body was trying to and it got that far but never spit out an egg.

temp going down a bit. No symptoms today except for very sore bbs...that's it :( Oh and discomfort in ovary area. Negative test..bummer! I had positives last time by 9dpo gloomy.gif I know I know, it's still early but I'm just letting myself feel down about it. If the baby's there, my negativity won't do any harm at this point!

Kinder ~ Your O day is a big ambiguous. Your temps don't really confirm it for cd13. Actually, I don't see temp confirmation until after cd19.

katrina ~ That's frustrating but typical. The only thing docs can do is throw drugs at you. They insist there's no point in checking hormone levels while nursing regardless of how much or for how long you've been nursing. Were your cycles shorter and more regular before baby?
