stabbed with pencil--tetanus risk?

Thread Starter
My 2yo just stabbed me with a freshly sharpened pencil. It went maybe half a centimeter into my arm, and didn't really bleed. Is there *any* risk for tetanus with this? My last tetanus shot was about 15 years ago when I stepped on a nail. I know my doctor would say get one just to be safe, so I'm looking for other opinions...
TIA

Not sure of the risk, but when I stepped on a nail in March (9 to 10 years since last Tetanus shote), I made sure it was cleaned out really well. I took the homeopathic remedies that my homeopath had previously mentioned were good for Tetanus---Ledum and Hypericum (I have read someone here say you shouldn't just take them, but make sure they fit the case--I did just take both). I also took high doses of vitamin c (well high form me--6,000 to 10,000 grams a day--can't really remember). Here is a link I found just now when googling how to spell ledum and hypericum--maybe it would be helpful to you (didn't read any of it, but bookmarked to look at later).

Aren't pencils made of graphite nowadays rather than lead?

I would clean it out well and consult my ND personally. I wouldn't get a booster for that, but that's just me.

That depends. Has your kid been using the pencil to dig around in soil or animal feces?

If no, then no.

Any risk? Sure, maybe. A risk worth worrying about? Not at all.
