Engaged then not?

Last week, Caden was pretty much engaged and ready to go. He was head down, spine up, really low. My chiropractor couldn't feel his head, and she said my ligaments were stripped. Now, he has turned toward my right side, so his back is to my side, and he feels kind of high up. I sometimes feel either his hands or him turning his head in my pelvic area. My chiro said today that my ligaments aren't as stripped now.
I was looking at the Spinning Babies website, and it indicated that this right side position may make things more difficult during labor since it'll take more work to engage the head. Awesome. But I know he can turn the right way because he was in that position last week, confirmed both by my mw and chiro.
What would make him disengage? How can I make him get back where he's supposed to be? I rolled around on my exercise ball for a couple hours tonight and I plan on going for a long walk in the morning.
I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever, especially if things go backwards like this!

i have heard that babies, subsequent babies especially, can bob up and down many times before that final engagement (which may well not happen until labor actually begins).

also, all of my babies (except my daughter, but she's a twin) have hung out on my right side for the majority of the pregnancy, and NONE of them ended up posterior during labor (fingers crossed for this one!). could be that's just where your babe is most comfortable right now.

YMMV, i'm just saying you might not need to worry TOO too much.

That's good to hear because my baby's been hanging out on my right side for months now. Of course, now, right near the end, she's been sometimes turning more towards being posterior. She's super active, though, so I'm trusting that she'll make her way to a good spot when it matters most.

Yeah, not unusual for subsequent babies (in particular) to keep moving around. I actually told my MW today that I thought baby had stayed on my left pretty much all week and we agreed that s/he is lower than last week (confirmed with measurements and lots of outsider's observations!). We were talking about the baby perhaps settling in for good.. And, then, this evening s/he flipped more towards the right!

I think baby is back on the left now and I'm hoping s/he stays there. But all of mine have settled in on the left - definitely seems to be the comfy spot in my pelvis. Both LOA and ROA will totally work for birth, it's just that LOA is considered a little more "stable" as baby is *less* likely to turn posterior.

I thought LOT was preferred for birth with LOA? At least according to Spinning Babies. My kid seems to be hanging out LOT or OP. She switches all the time. When she's OP it hurts my tailbone more so I can always tell when I walk around.
