boy energy v girl energy

Tonight we hung out with another new family and their baby girl, 3 days older than our Santiago. She was so calm!

Meanwhile our boy was fussing if we stopped moving. He wanted to be walked around facing outward so he could look around.

Is there such thing as boy energy and girl energy at this young an age? Whenever we meet little baby girls they're so chill. The boys all seem to have ants in their pants.

My 3 boys have always been very chill.

My daughter was quite a high strung baby though! My oldest niece was high strung too...but my youngest niece is a very calm baby.

I think it all has to do with individual energy and not the sex of the child.

I had a very high strung daughter and two chill boys, so I think that it is more of their personality then something to be attributed to their sex.

I also have had one of my chill boys turn into a rambunctious toddler/preschooler so I don't think that personalities are set in stone after birth either.

My little girl was NOT a chill baby. My new little boy is so laid back compared to her.

So nah, don't think it's gender.

nope, I don't believe it either. I also think it's important not to put too much emphasis on gender roles with our kids, they get way too much from the outside world as it is

Wasn't trying to emphasize gender roles but I guess I'm wrong anyway. Love our baby boy and his energy but it was quite nice to hold such a calm little baby. Maybe our next one...

indeed, even if your next is a boy... they could be calm. My mom had 5 kids, first and last were the energetic ones, us three middle were calm. So far my three are the opposite, first (DS) and last (Mae) are very mellow.... DD1 is off the walls.
