Past Tummy Issues

Okay, so I realize as I type this how ridiculous I sound. I just wanted to say that first.

Last year (this time) I started having major tummy issues (loose bowels) and it was every day for some time. After going to the lab (yup, that was fun) and getting a colonoscopy and tested for celiac, everything was fine and eventually it stopped. I would have an occasional upset but I was trying to figure out what the culprit was.

Now, I'm pregnant (17 weeks) and have been totally fine and have even re-introduced dairy again and am fine. I continue to take my probiotics along with my pre-natal. So, today, I had this craving for a milkshake taste and for some reason, I have Carnation Instant Breakfast in my closet. I decided to make half a packet and filled the glass half way with milk. It was good, mind you, I know it is not the best and healthiest thing I could have had. I had a thought that this time last year, when the tummy thing started, I was drinking these. Not daily, just once in a while but stopped when my stomach got bad.

I started to wonder if the CIB was the culprit but if it was, it should have abated and not continued for 5-6 months as my stomach problems continued. I know I only had a little bit this morning, but I kept thinking, what if? But I keep telling myself that anything that you eat/drink that doesn't agree with you eventually leaves your system after a few days, right? I mean, I can't possibly cause these problems all over again for months on end from just a half a packet of this crap, right? The only thing I can think of is, it could have been my thyroid back then (though that was tested last year when my stomach issues were happening and was fine) but my thyroid was a little hyper in the beginning of my pregnancy (this year) but now it's fine and we are checking it every 2 months.

(I have since thrown out the CIB) Again, I sound ridiculous, I know!!!! Thanks for listening at least!

If you're reacting to something specific in the CIB then that could be it. There are a lot of ingredients in that though, yes? It might be hard to narrow it down. If you've linked the diarrhea to the Carnation then you are right just to throw it away!
